Hi,
I have the latest iOs 16.0.3 and the latest WhasApp. I cannot focus the textfield for entering a message. I can select the buttons to the left and right. But not the text field. Did anyone experience a similar behaviour and knows how to fix it?
I tried different Navigation Styles for VoiceOver. No change.

When was your last WhatsApp update? It may be that everyone will need to stop updates if there’s going to be a problem. Alternatively maybe you could uninstall and reinstall if there’s no update in the last few days thats caused the problem.

I just checked, and i'm able to enter text. I have the latest version of iOS and the latest update of WhatsApp. Have you force-closed WhatsApp in the app switcher? Sometimes that can fix app oddities.

Yeah I tried that. I'm thinking of resetting my iPhone. But its a hassle. Setting up all the apps again for banks and such.
FIXED!
I found the issue. The screenrecognition feature, for apps, athat are not accessible was active for WhatsApp. Turning that off makes WhatsApp work properly again.

I turn screen recognition off in the rotor settings, so I don’t accidentally trigger it, it seems to cause more hassle than it’s worth for me at least.
