Accessibility of Apps for people with speech difficulties

Hello,

I have an acquaintance who is beginning to experience speech problems, and would benefit from an app where she could type, and have her entered text spoken. However, I was wondering if others have found apps in this category to be accessible. I don't really know where to start with this one.

Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated.

The Apple translation app might do what you want. If you set both languages to English it says "transcribe only" and you can push the "play" button to speak what you entered.

Hi there. I had my teeth polled early last year, and couldn’t talk for at least a month because the pain was so bad. So I use this app. If you need absolutely any help, I’ll be happy to explain how to use the app. Hope this is what you and your acquaintance are looking for. I think that’s really great of you to post something on behalf of her like this. We need more kind souls like you in this world. https://apps.apple.com/nz/app/talk-for-me-text-to-speech/id975096888

This looks perfect, especially because if you add a bluetooth keyboard, pressing enter automatically causes the app to speak what has been entered. I really appreciate your help!
