Hello. I'm wondering how accessible is Main Stage for the Mac? Has anyone tried using it before?
Thank you :-)

I use it all the time in live situations. I never know what kind of keyboard I'll be given at churches I go to, so I bring a computer, an audio interface with midi, and typically use large pianos like Keyscape or Ravenscroft instead. Setting up patches is as easy as setting up tracks in Logic, and if you're so inclined, you can load backing tracks and clicks in as well. I don't use those features, but I've set them up for fun before! It's seriously better than having to use a hardware module!

Wow that's great. I may get it then. Super exciting to know that you use it. :-)

Are you using Voice Over. I seen comments on the LogicBand forum to the effect they couldn't get anywhere. Infact I know of a VO user who downloaded the latest version in the last few days and so far can't get any feedback. Do you have any configuration or getting started tips?

I'm using Mainstage when playing keys in church's worship session. It works pretty well except assignment and mapping or onscreen control things. Anybody knows how I can map midi controler or even keyboard note to specific action such as changing patches, changing plug-in parameters?

In edit view, to map to a hardware controller you can vo-space on the first column in the assignments & mappings outline. You can also use the on-screen control inspector in layout view for concert level controls.

Add a control to the layout in layout view then create an on-screen label and map it to an action in the on-screen control inspector in edit view. Then perform the steps above for hardware.

There is some strange behavior with voiceover, but I've been able to power through it.

Sounds cool. I didn't know that you could do that with Voiceover.

Hey Ramy,
Oreo Monster at logic.band might know of such a tutorial. He's done accessibility tutoring and mp3 tutorials for logic pro and garage band. My question is, though, what does mainstage give you that logic pro doesn't?

the main advantage from what i know is that you can assign buttons on your Midi controller that can change patches on the fly, and also, very easy to use in live giggs.
I know the Logic.band, but Orio does not teach main stage.

Have you read about this in the user guide?
First, in the Mainstage layout view, drag a control from the screen controls pallet to the layout area. When you do this, it for some reason assigns the same number all ready assigned to a previous control. So, go into the inspector and assign a number higher then is assigned. Then change to the edit view and change the panel to assignments and mapping. Find it in the outline view. It will be the one not mapped to any function. navigate to the screen control inspector, chose the unmapped tab, and brows to what you want in the browser and vo-space. Now, map it to a hardware control.

IS this drag and drop feature accessible?

First make sure that the layout area is fully visible to vo. In the layout view, interact with the layout area and try routing the mouse to an element. If it doesn't rout to the location of the vo cursor you may need to move the horizontal splitter down a little. Not too much as you don't want to hide the controls pallet.

Interact with the controls pallet and move vo to the desired control and rout the mouse.
shift-vo-command-space to lock the mouse and then move vo to the layout area.
Unlock the mouse with the above key cord.

hey all:
i'll send as a forum topic on applevis, but just thought to send it here because i do not anyone to be in my situation.
Main stage accessibility is not working perfectly, however it was working, at least for the important things like changing the strip sound, changing the instrument at all, this was working until Ventura, but now, on mac os 14, it is not working, so , we can not change the instrument sound at all.
for anyone that uses mainstage all the time, please do not update.
i did not the new os 15, but 14 is not accessible on main stage at all.
