Hello, I am translating this message from Turkish to English. I started using iOS 16 version. In iOS 15, I was able to use text recognition on the screenshot I took. If I tapped once in the middle of the screen and swiped my finger to the left, the recognized text would be spoken throughout. Currently, for iOS 16, this does not work. When I touch the middle of the screen and slide my finger to the left, Detected Lift subject says. I have no clue what this is. How is the situation on your phone? To me, this is a big mistake and makes text recognition very difficult without using ocr. I am using iPhone 13.

Text Recognition In Screen Shots Works Fine
The process for recognizing text in a screen shot is working fine for me in iOS 16.0.2. This is how I get it to work.
1. I find the photo I want to work with in the photos app.
2. Using the rotor I find the explore image option and double-tap on it.
3. Once in the photo, I swipe right a couple of times until I start hearing the text. Then I find the text option in the rotor I can then swipe up and down to go through the text.
The Text Is Read Automatically In Photos
I should also mention that text is read automatically in photos. The only reason I described the other method for reading the text in my previous comment is because there may be times when you need to review the text in greater detail.
You Can Also Try The Detect Text Option
In some of my photos I have the detect text button and I can use it to read the text. This button doesn't always show for me in photos that have text in them. It usually does but I've had times where it doesn't and I had to use the other methods described previously.
Maybe I was misunderstood.
Hello, After I took the screenshot, I was reading and deleting the text without saving it. Text no longer appears on the screen without clicking the detect text button. In iOS 15 version, without clicking the detect text button, text would appear on the screen.
I was talking about this problem. Already, in the photos app, text recognition works fine for a photo we're in.
