Maths symbols announced in greek language on Voiceover on Mac

Hi all, I've got some maths questions, and VO is announcing symbols like degrees and pie in a different language. For example π doesn't come up as py. Is anyone else having this issue? if so, is there any way to have VO announce the symbol as py?
I have the same issue as you, but no solution.
In particular, the "pi" symbol (and most/all math Greek symbols) is pronounced in Greek like "micro pi" (lowercase pi). And expressions like "pi / 2" are pronounced in Greek which is unintelligble to my ear. This is highly disruptive when I'm reading articles filled with math because I can't understand what it's saying.
Oops, I realized the solution was posted already as a comment above. My bad, I'm still getting used to navigating this page.
To give more details on how to open the voice rotor:
1. Hold cmd, VO, and shift keys, and press either left-arrow or right-arrow. If you keep holding the 3 modifier keys, the voice rotor menu should stay on screen.
2. Press left-arrow (or right-arrow) until you get to "Voice" section. Then select your desired speaker (instead of "Autoselect")
