Apple has today released macOS Monterey 12.6 and macOS Big Sur 11.7 with security fixes.
According to MacRumors, macOS 12.6 “addresses a number of kernel vulnerabilities as well as issues with maps, iMovie, ATS, MediaLibrary, and PackageKit.”
Reportedly, one kernel vulnerability was actively exploited, which means that it is important for all macOS Monterey users to update to the new version of the operating system as soon as possible.
Apple has also released a macOS Big Sur 11.7 update with security fixes.
As macOS Monterey 12.6 and macOS Big Sur 11.7 appear to have been released to address a small number of specific issues, our expectation is that they do not contain any accessibility changes for blind and low vision users; however, if you notice any changes, improvements or regressions in your own use of these releases, please post a comment with your findings.
To install macOS 12.6 or 11.7, choose System Preferences from the Apple menu, click the Software Update preference pane, and click the Update Now button to begin the update process. If other updates are available, you can click "More info" to see details about them and select specific updates to install.

AppleScript malfunction after upgrade
This is not a new bug, but it's worth mentioning that it's still present. It's a minor issue, but I want to keep it in the spotlight.
Main menu and first-letter navigation
Has anyone else had issues using first letter navigation to jump to a menu in the menu bar? For example, if you have Pages open, you might press Control+2 to jump focus to the menu bar, then press V to jump to the View menu. But in current Mac OS, it seems like sometimes the V jumps to the View menu, and most times it does nothing, leaving focus on the Apple menu.
I'm not having any issues…
I'm not having any issues with first-letter navigation in the menu bar, however I access it with VO-M rather than Control-F2. Do you experience different results with that command?
