Hello all,

Has this happened to you?

Today, I logged into my Mac, and Eloquence crashed on me. It then switches to Samantha, in which, looking at the voices, Eloquence disappears.

I have reported this to Apple as best as I can.

A while back, Eloquence crashed on my iPhone XR as well, changing the voice back to Samantha. It disappeared from my iPhone as well. After updating my iPhone Beta software, it came back.

Has anyone else experienced this bug?

Thank you.

Your Feedback is Important to Improving Accessibility on Apple platforms

Don't assume that Apple is aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference - submitting bug reports directly to the company helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. Your report may provide crucial information. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority they give to fixing the bug.

If you're using a beta version, use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you're using a public release, follow the instructions on this page.

I've had that happen twice, but don't know what triggered it. Eloquence came back after I switched to another app.

I suppose things like this are why you can't delete the Samantha compact voice: The list of voices now shows it as using 11 MB and that it is used by VoiceOver when you tap the edit button.

I as well had that happen twice. for me, it was the first boot of the last two developer betas. I didn’t report it yet, as it’s a hard bug to reproduce. but I will if it happens on developer beta 6.

Don't wait to report bugs. Give Apple as much time as possible to polish it for release. Never ever wait to report bugs.
