Dear,
My name is Kristof Nijs. I am a blind programmer and since a year I have been building accessible apps and audio games for iPhone and iPad.
My first app has just been completed. The app is called Mathematicus Parvus and it is a simple app to practice and stimulate mental arithmetic.
Are you interested? Don't hesitate to try the app for free.
Do you think it's a good app and would you like other people to get to know it too? Spread the word or post the app in the App Directory on this website.
You can download the app via the URL below:

Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Kristof Nijs

Hello, Christof! Based on what I've seen so far, from looking at your post, on here, and the description on the App Store, I think it's great! However, I do have a question.
Does it support learning HS. math? The reason why I'm asking, is because due to a lot of things including getting the piece of equipment I would need for college taken from me by my district, with little notice, and unable to afford to purchase one for myself, due to them costing several thousand dollars, I haven't been able to attend college. Plus, the braille code has changed. Including a new braille code for technical materials such as math. So, I need to do some math stuff to get back in the swing of things, and also to learn this new braille technical code. Due to its adoption in certain states and not others, and some states have even left it up to their counties whether to adopt the UEB technical code or not.
So, my questions are:
1. Can I use this app with a braille display? Will it display in UEB math if that's what I have my settings toggled to on my Ipad?
2. Does it support high school math learning? If so, how much does it cost or is that free? I ask this, because I seen where you have in-app purchases available. So, I just wanted to check before spending money.
Thanks for any help you can give. Keep up the good work, and best of luck to you! :-)

Dear Dawn,
Thanks for your questions.
You asked the following:
1. Can I use this app with a braille display? Will it display in UEB math if that's what I have my settings toggled to on my Ipad?
You can use the app with a braille display, however, the app is optimized to use with speech synthesis.
For example, when the math is "2 + 2", for sighted people there will appear a plus sign on the screen. But on the braille display you will read "2 plus 2", with the word "plus". This is to avoid having the speech synthesis saying "two plus sign two".
2. Does it support high school math learning? If so, how much does it cost or is that free?
The app is intended for children and supports addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. So it does not support high school math.
The app offers five free trials and currently costs about 3,49 euro. Family Sharing is enabled.
Hope you're satisfied with my answer.
Kind regards,
Kristof Nijs

Not on the US AppStore?
Hello,
I just tried to enter the name of the app into the US AppStore, but it doesn’t appear to be available, because it said, “No results found.”
Re: Skippy
Hey, Skippy. It is available on the US. app store. I just clicked on the link in the forum post, and it took me right to it. Hope this helps!
Dear, I forgot to mention…
Dear,
I forgot to mention that the app is available in the United States and the European Union and is available in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
You can go to the product page of the app by clicking on the link below and there select your language and then click the download link.

Unfortunately my knowledge of high school math is not so good, but maybe in the future I can build an app for it. ;-)
Unfortunately the app is not available outside the United States and the European Union, due to export regulations and other laws. ;-)
Kind regards,
Kristof Nijs
