Hi,
First, this is not an attempt to spark a PC VS Mac debate.
The reason for this post is that I found a way that works for me to kind of simulate a screen reader behavior I like on PC, since I am primarily a PC user, but want to get better at using my Mac.
On the PC, if you go to a new web page, your screen reader stays where it is and when you use the Back function in your web browser, you can just continue reading. To perform this same behavior on Mac, I press Command-Return, which opens a new browser tab, but also leaves VoiceOver where it was on the page I came from.
If you have little tricks that increase your efficiency, would you mind adding them to this thread or point to other threads or posts?
Thanks.
Jim

3 Quick Tips
1. I set right option-= (the equals sign) as my shortcut to quickly open Calculator. More efficient than using Spotlight.
2. I use Launch Pad in the dock to open any app on my Mac. Same for any system setting in System Preferences. Move to the dock, VO-shift-M and the menu of options will appear.
• Press option F11/F12 to quickly open the Sound settings. This is useful for situations where you have multiple sound cards, BlueTooth speakers and headphones connected to your Mac and you need to rapidly change a setting.
