Hi,
My Mac is silent. My wife says it is on, but is showing a black screen. I believe I left it on for a few days and forgot to turn it off. I have it plugged in now. I found instructions from Apple Support that say to hold down the Start button for about ten seconds, then, because this Mac is an Intel Mac, press, I believe, Command-Shift-R, then choose some other options. Anyway, does anyone have advice about how to proceed?

Thanks.

Have you ttried resetting the system management controller (SMC) by shutting down the Mac, unplugging the power adapter, and pressing and holding the Control, Option, and Shift keys, and the Power button for ten seconds?

A Mac that old is probably not worth reviving. Better to just get an M1 or M2 at this point. The 2015 isn't going to get the next upgrade anyway.
