Works well with my iPad 9 gen and apple smart keyboard. No issues.

Yes I have seen this bug too. For me though, it is triggered by certain events.
The app switcher will be working fine, but if I open the Files app, then it stops working. That is the most consistent trigger I have found, but I have had the app switcher stop working on some other occasions too.
Rebooting the phone fixes it, until I trigger the bug again.
I have reported the bug through the Feedback app, pleads do likewise.

Yes I’m having the same problem. My app switcher doesn’t appear at all. I’m using iPhone 13 mini

I can confirm with my iPhone 13pro the app switcher has totally gone. Neither using apple's gesture or a custom gesture works. Siri can't close apps so this is a real pain. Reported through the feedback app.

A workaround is to do your home jesture to get to your home screen then you can use the app switcher just fine.

Hi, No there is nowhere in iOS16 that allows me to get to the AS. Interestingly, if you do the apple gesture of sliding you're finger up the screen and leave the finger on the screen VO does say lift up to go to app switcher. It doesn't obviously, but it thinks it should lol.

Looks like it is working on the iPad 9 gen. Done it several times with a keyboard and no issues. Strange!

I’ve noticed if you have a smart invert enabled on your phone it will not allow you to use your app switcher. Once you disable it, you have to restart your phone.

I also have this issue (iPhone 11). I managed to get the app switcher working again by turning off smart invert and restarting my phone. Seems like it has something to do with the color accessibility settings. This issue is still present in IOS 16.1 public beta 2.

Works well with 12 pro but not so good with iPad 9. The beta update for 16.1 is not that great.

The only problem I'm having with the app switcher is that if I use the three-finger swipe up to close apps, I have to do the gesture twice.

I only use one finger to slide up to close.

There does seem to be a bug here. In my experience, I have to touch the app which is verbalized by VoiceOver as being active. Once I do that, the app can be closed in two ways. Either swipe up with three fingers or flick down with one finger and double tap the first time. Subsequent apps which are touched which indicate as "active" can then be closed with a simple double tap.

When I bring up the App Switcher it seems to change the order of items. I've tried a hard reset which appears to work for a bit and then reverts to the former behavior.

If it doesn't come up at first. touch another part of the screen until you hear it.

Works fine for me except when I'm on a facetime call. I have an iPhone 14 pro.
