Hi, Following Davids excelent review of the linkbuds which i may get by the way, has anyone tried the linkbuds s? i thought the purpose of them, was to make you aware, not block out noise? thanks for any thoughts. also, how good is the noise canceling say, when on a train, car, etc? assume the "ambient mode" is fine for when on the street?

I have these arriving today, as Amazon's Prime Day offer was too tempting to refuse.

Here in the UK the LinkBuds S are reduced by £50, the LinkBuds by £30. Nice 😀

how did you get on have you tried them yet? just curious, overall as to why they have been released, given, i thought, the idea of them was to hear our environment, not get rid of it, for blind users?

The two models are far more different than the naming suggests.

Whereas the original LinkBuds have a physical hole in the driver to let ambient sounds through, the S model is a more traditional in ear design. Hence it having a transparency mode. The two models are also quite different in other design areas and features. The S model is also reported to have better audio performance.

whereas the linkbuds have the effect of no earbuds so the sound is not filtered how is the transparency on the s model?

Hello
the transparency mode is similar to the Apple AirPods Pro
The Silicon tips basically sealed in the ear and transparency mode activate some mic to listen the ambient sounds however is as stereo it means left and right not really 360 ambient sound it means up, behind, a head and of course left and right.
the Sony Linkbuds that most blind people use is as donnas shape. with a open ring on it.

Hi, do these earbuds lag like all of the other 3rd party earbuds. I've recently purchased the Beats Fits Pro which have the H! chip and I can clearly hear what is going on around me and I can also have a conversation. I did think about giving the Link Buds ago but the slight lag issue would have been a deal breaker.
