Problem with Bluetooth Keyboard And 5th Generation iPod Touch

Hi, I just got my new 5th Generation iPod Touch today, and so far really like it. However, I can't get my Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard to show up in the Bluetooth settings screen. I'm sure the batteries are fine as the keyboard worked great a couple days ago and hasn't been on until now. I know Bluetooth is working because the iPod recognized my Braille Star 40 display, which I was able to pair successfully. I even tried pressing the iPod's Power button a few times until it reset, but that didn't help. Is there anything else I can do to get the keyboard to work? Thanks for your help. Kelly

I doubt this would have anything to do with my problem, but I didn't unpair the keyboard from my 4th Generation iPod Touch. If that is indeed the problem, I'm afraid I can't do anything about it as the old iPod was erased so a friend could have it. One thing I did try, however, was changing the batteries, but so far it's still not being recognized. Frustrating!

As the subject line says, I finally managed, with some sighted help, to get the keyboard working again. Turns out it just needed to be reset so I could pair it with the iPod, but the problem was I didn't know where the pairing button was. Now that it's working again, I now know that I'm using a Microsoft Mobile 6000 keyboard, and the pairing button is in a hole next to the Power switch. You have to press the "button" using a pen or something for a few seconds for it to work. Hope this information is helpful for anyone else who has, or is thinking about getting, this model of keyboard.

Kelly, Many thanks for posting your experience. I have a Microsoft Mobile 5000 keyboard which the iPhone identifies as a Microsoft R 6000 keyboard. The keyboard used to work in IOS 6. Once I upgraded to IOs 7, I was unable to get the keyboard to work. The problem was that pairing button which is in a hole next to the power button. I hit it and the keyboard showed up and is now paired. Pranav
