Description of App

WatchTube is a YouTube app for the Apple Watch that lets you browse content right from your wrist

We offer many features alongside this experience, including:

• Finding your favorite content creators

• Play videos from YouTube

• Subscribing to channels

• Suggested videos

• History

• Liked videos

• Captions

• Privacy-first

• And so much more!

Here’s a more in-depth dive into what the app is capable of!

When you first enter the app, you’re greeted with a list of trending videos on YouTube. This is your feed. As you interact with videos, it will adapt its content accordingly. Anything you interact with is stored on device for privacy reasons. All curated and generated content shown in your feed is generated offline on your watch via our algorithm which learns from what you watch, like and people you’ve subscribed to. This feed can be scrolled down infinitely as you find more content to watch.

When you find a video to watch, you can view information about it and all comments on the video.

You can also enable captions for those who need it or wish to save battery by not using the speaker.

The library houses everything you’ve interacted with.

Search supports seeing channels and playlists, and you can subscribe to channels for quick access too.

We hope you enjoy our app!

Accessibility Comments

Appears to be fully accessible to use. Use the Page Ticker located at the bottom to get to the various tabs. Interesting concept and the developer say an audio only is coming soon.

Hey cool app, However, if I search for a video and try to play it, I get a error message. However the videos on the homepage play. I think this app is pretty new so the developer is still ironing things out.It should be noted that the Apple watch speaker can play the audio.

I have the series 7 Apple Watch and when I tap on the play button it will not play anything so I’m just wondering what I’m doing wrong

This is wicked cool! I did have to double tap the play button a couple times after loading a video, I think the first time just simply puts you into the player, then the second time actually gets it going. Another little trick for you all is, you mention going to the page adjuster at the bottom of the screen. That could take a lot of scrolling, especially if you're on your first page which is the feed. An easier way which does indeed work is to flick with 2 fingers to the left or the right to move between the 4 tabs. I definitely did get something though to play, so I can confirm the app isn't busted as a few of you said. It just takes some getting used to the interface. I love it though. Actually, like I said, this is a pretty cool concept to do this from your wrist. God help anyone though sighted trying to watch things on that small of a screen though. Heheheheh.
