Difficulty with the doordash app

I used to use the doordash app quite a bit and found it very accessible, but I’ve had trouble for a while now because when I click on a restaurant to go through the menu things seem to appear willy-nilly, for example when I want to focus on tacos on a Mexican menu and start to flick right I might get the listing for chicken tacos, but if I continue to go right I’ll get listings for Coke, beef burritos, rice, flan, etc., so it’s very hit-or-miss as to trying to find a specific item I may be looking for. I can click on an item and order it if I want, but I can’t get all the types of tacos read under the taco section. I’ve contacted doordash about this problem and all they say is that they’ll take care of it, but they never do. Has anyone else had similar problems with the app? Thanks for reading.

I've had the same problem for a while now. It's made the app virtually unusable in some instances. I talked with the customer service team and the solution was to use the website to order. It's really easy to use so if you are having difficulties just use that until they fix the problem.

I've been running into this problem as well for the past 6-8 months. Customer service at doordash told me the same thing, but at this rate I don't know if there'll be a fix.

My problem with DoorDash started two weeks ago when the advertising for Summer Dash Pass started or something happened which seems to make VO stop speaking. After trying different things such as restarting the app and even unlocking the rotation I still couldn't get into the restaurant menus. Gestures don't reveal anything except maybe once in a while. I suspect but since I can't see the screen, I don't know for sure, that they now have some kind of splash page which is making the opening screen almost completely inaccessible. The tabs disappear and I finally got them to appear by tapping where I suspected the back button should be or doing multiple scrub gestures and barely could get the account tab to work but finally managed to cancel Dash Pass. I've been using this app for 2 and a half years and have had little trouble with it. Once in a while when they put a new opening message I get a "got it" button but can't read the message. This is the first time I've had trouble ordering from the restaurant menu. I wonder if this is going to be fixed with the next update? I got customer service after a lot of difficulty. They could help with the order but when I went to talk to the tech part of their support team I didn't get any favorable or unfavorable response. When I finally can get there, the accessability message says they are commited to accomodations but it sure doesn't seem that way from the opening screen. I tried going to the website but it said I couldn't get into it. Has anyone had this type of problem in the last two weeks? It's funny I searched for "doordash" in the topics and found this original post. Has anyone noticed a performance change in the last two weeks? I'm guessing the update occurred between July 15 and July 28 because my last successful order without assistance on the support line occurred on July 15. Once I get past all the flashy stuff it might work. I have checked several times since and haven't found any improvement. When I choose a restaurant then the screen becomes totally unreadable. I'm using an iPhone 11.

I don't know what good it will do, but I found the E-mail address for the doordash CEO and sent him a message about the difficulty I've been having using the app. I don't know if I'll hear back from him, but perhaps the more people who E-mail him the more they might try to fix the app.

For the taco example, I have had success with tapping the Tacos, then it shows everything else. Think of them as headings, or hidden menus.
Do not forget to write public reviews on the app store when something is not working. The people at Door-Dash have to see it. If not, at least you would help other blind people and to help bring awareness to the issues we face.

Glad I'm not the only one as I'm having the same issues as the original poster and this never use to happen. First, people can actually use this number and place doordash orders over the phone if you are blind as long as you already have a credit card on your doordash profile and no proof of disability is needed. +1 (855) 300-8985. Second, and this is truly shocking, I called several times and kept pushing and amazingly finally got to someone who knew a little about accessibility and VO. They actually had an iphone and knew how to turn VO on. They turned it on and I listened to them flick right on the same restaurant I was using and they were not having the same problems I was having. I explained that different phones using different versions or different setups could lead to different results and I let him hear my phone. But, because he was not reproducing the problem, he kind of ended up blowing me off. So, we have to keep pushing.
