Hi all,
my name is Ivan Soto. I am a blind software developer and enjoy making audio games from time to time. Most of my games are PC games only, but today I am glad to tell you that the initial port for one of my games is complete.
What game is this?
The game is called Perilous Marathon. You may or may have not heard about it before, but it has been around for the PC for a while, and was previously on the Mac for a limited time.
The game is a runner type game, meaning you can not control your character's movement in the game, and the game will gradually speed you up, making avoiding things harder and harder.
You can earn coins, spend said coins at the game shop, collect items to try to stay alive, and compete with your friends with the online scoreboards!
I hope you enjoy this game!

This is one of my favourite Mac titles. I recommend anyone who is in to this type of game to give it a try. You won't regret it. Ivan, I hope more of your games will become compatible for Mac in the future.

I'm not able to open the application becuase the developer cannot be verified. Maybe I have to change something in my security settings?

Yes, either hit vo shift m and choose open, or google how to add the "from anywhere" option in privacy settings as I forgotten the terminal command to do so.

Hi
Is this game still worth buying for the Mac? I read something in the change log on the website that said they don’t support the Mac anymore, I’m confused. It says I’m running version 1.63, demo version.
Also I can’t figure out for the life of me what the coins do. Does anyone know what those are for?
I keep hearing in the game that I’m collecting warp boxes, but it doesn’t tell me what those are for in the manual.
If someone could clear these things up for me and tell me if the game is still worth buying or not, that would be greatly appreciated.

the Mac version is still supported, as I just checked the website. The coins are used to purchase items from the shop, such as extra lives. Note, however, that you can only do this with the full version. Hope this helps.

OK I have purchased the game. Is there something I’m missing to cycle through the available items you have in your inventory to activate? Because while I’m in a game, if I wanna use a warp box that I’ve purchased for example, I have to keep pressing enter and using my bomb diffusers until I hit the warp box. Is there an easier way to do this instead of wasting items?

I believe pressing the Tab key will cycle you through your available items. Once an item is selected, press Return to activate it.

Thanks for all the help. I’m getting the hang of this game now. Watch out for me on the scoreboards lol. My display name is Michael Myers

I really like this game. I don't know what to do about doors, though. I've tried arrows to avoid them and jumping. still crash into them and end the game. Ideas?

When you are approaching a door, press the Space bar to open it. You will hear a click and a squeaking noise as it opens and you are good to pass.

Thank you! I knew the solution had to be that simple.

How do I avoid many blades. I had the same problem with my friends, I didn't know how to avoid it, no matter how to jump or get down. When I heard the sound of the blades it meant the end of my game

Try to jump over as many as you can. That's all I can suggest.
