Who would be interested in a baby/child care game from Blindfold Games?

Hello. So, I have been looking through the various listings here on AppleVis for simulation games, particularly care games. The 1 area that seems to be especially lacking is realistic baby care games. I downloaded Blindfold Doggie, and I absolutely love it. I was wondering how many people here at AppleVis would like to see a Blindfold Baby game. I haven’t written to Marty Shultz yet, as I’d like to gage the demand for such a thing. It wouldn’t make sense if I was the only one wanting this to be developed. I know that we have the X2line baby games and Little Girl Magic, but let me know what you all think.

Hi,
I agree with you about the virtual toddler, that would be so awesome!

I love this idea and this thread. I wonder what happened. I do hope it will become a reality soon. And, if it's a success, I'd love to see more realistic pet simulation games too. I've been dying for those.

Hello everybody. I'm loving this thread about baby care games. I feel like we really need a lot more of pet and baby care games. Ever since my baby sim went ka boom, I have been looking for a good baby care game. Here is an idea I had. What if there was some kind of squeaking sound when you rocked the baby in the cradle. Maybe, you could also choose how you want to rock the baby. You could rock your baby in your arms in your favorite rocking chair, or you could put him or her to sleep in his or her cradle. Maybe, there could be a sound that represents the cradle rocking and another sound for the rocking chair. another idea I had is a swing. Maybe when your baby gets to be a certain age, you can swipe in a certain direction to push your baby on a swing. The higher your swing goes, the happier your baby. Of course, there should be a buzzing sound if you're about to push your baby to high. Once you have reached the height limit, just let the swing slow down and stop by itself. If you're going to be away from your device for a long period of time and you don't want your baby to die, use your baby care points to hire a nanny to care for your baby while you are away from your device.

I would definitely like to see something like that! I emailed Mr. Schultz about some game suggestions too but I didn't think of anything close to that.

Hello all,
How does ending the game at age 5 sound? This is how most mainstream parenting simulators work I have found, see the My Little Baby games for more on this, so do not download it if you are exclusively a voiceover user. It is not accessible. my thinking however, is that this will give you experience with a child ages 1 to 4, which does enCompass the toddler years. maybe there could be a short little chapter about their first day of kindergarten, and then your final scores revealed. As for other suggestions, there are a lot of great ones. However, I think I’m going to try and keep things simple so that coding and development can begin. Is this OK with everyone? Also the Facebook group is called Baby Care App Ideas. Also, a quick question about consequences for neglectful parenting. Is death too harsh? For those of you that still have my babies him, please refresh my memory on what happens if things go terribly wrong. Did they just become very sick and need hospitalization? Or do they die? I do very much want this to be a game for everyone, so please let me know about this. I will probably get the email out on Tuesday, due to the holiday. So you should have plenty of time to get any last minute things in that you want to add.
Hope to hear from you all soon.

Ending the game at five years old is a good idea. This way, everybody gets what they want. As for my baby sim, if you neglected your baby for to long, you got a message to the effect of, your baby is really sick now, you can end the game now, or call the ambulance. Personally, I thought this message was way to harsh on the users. It was basically telling you in the most glaring way possible that you weren't a good virtual parent.

By Moopie Curran on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

That sounds good, I definitely think there should be a bit of something about their first little while of kindergarten, because that's such a pivotal time in a young child's development stages. I'm fine with it just being a small amount though, as long as it's there. :)
As for neglecting the baby, maybe it should just get sick, or at least weaker.
Can't wait to play this when it comes into beta or comes out. :)

Should it be more like Hatchi in that you get a message to the effect of your baby is sick and immediate action is required? I feel like all virtual care games do this to a certain degree.

Hello everyone. I’m loving the ideas so far, I was just thinking. Yes, it would be great to make it so the child could be raised from newborn to five, but I was also thinking, why don’t you do it in chunks until the child grows up? For example, newborn to five, 5 to 10, 10 to 15, and if you wanted to, you could grow the child from 15 to 18, and let the parent go through all the teenage rebellious years. This may be good for some teenagers, of course those who want to rome the streets and be naughty, to actually see what their parents go through. then, to make it real exciting, you could raise your child until they are a total adult. like 18 to 21. But otherwise, I’d be happy with raising the child to five if that’s where you want to leave it. But then you could make the chunks as an in app purchase. Like what my baby Sim2 did, they had the game in two parts. Rather than have yours and months though, you could have an in app purchase every five or so years. Of course, it’s entirely up to you, and what everyone else thinks. But I do think it would be a great game if you had it that way. Plus, the app developer would have a decent profit from it, if people are upgrading every five years to get the next chapter. Of course it wouldn’t be five years in real time, but a similar principle. Maybe a year could last a week, or a month. It’s up to you guys how you structure it though, just putting my ideas out there

Hello. I think we should leave it alone for now, until we have an enjoyable and working app since it needs to be coded and built from the ground up. To make this easier, why don’t you all tell me some essentials that you would like to see in the very first version if possible.

By Moopie Curran on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

I know, it's basic, but I'd like to see the ability to name the baby and select the gender. Also down the road maybe, I 'd like to be able to choose the hair and eye color, I know it's stupid since I'm totally blind, lol.

By Moopie Curran on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

That's a wonderful idea for those who want just a baby or toddler, they don't have to do the in app purchase. Obviously, this wouldn't be introduced in the first version necessarily, but it's something I'd like to see.

Lol we all have visions for what our perfect little companion should look like. And I’m not trying to shut down anyone’s ideas or anything. I’m just trying to keep things simple to get a beta and first version out. I hope you understand. :-)

By Paige on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

I think in the first version we should at least have basic activities like feeding, picking clothes, and having different toys to choose from. I like the idea of having the consequences be like Hatchi, you get one warning alert that the baby is sick and needs care immediately. Also, I know some people want to be able to pick the gender of their baby, but I think there should be a randomize option also, to make it a little more realistic.

By treky fan on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

Here are my ideas for the first version of the game. Be able to fully care for your baby, feeding, bathing, changing, etc. Having a fewbasic toys, rattle, stuffed animals, that sort of thing. Having a few things to buy, diapers, food, formula, etc. Last, but certainly not least, having a few activities, taking your baby for a walk, going to the docdoctor, and maybe go see grandma. Also, have a few outfits so you can pick what your baby wares.

Why not have this added in to Bitlife? It would be a natural addition to it. Caring for the children you have. Contact the dev about it.

What’s the best way to contact them? Email gets no responses usually, and neither does posting on Facebook. Is Redit and Twitter the best ways?

I think we should also have the ability to decorate the nursery a bit, and I’m still liking my earlier idea of seasons and maybe even holidays in the future. Who doesn’t love celebrating baby’s first Christmas?

By Bellsfurmama on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

I don’t know. I tink they are on Twitter. You can already interact with your children a good bit in this game and you can have as many children as you want. Bitlife is pretty realistic. Obviously you don’t do any home decorating, but you can buy your children gifts.

By DMNagel on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

BitLife is not a baby sim, so most of the baby routine and the baby caring experience will be lost. The one year skipping age button pretty much busts our chops. In BitLife, a player can be as active or inactive as they want without consequences, defeating the caring purpose. BitLife focuses on life itself, not caring for a life. I'm afraid we will have to do this right, forget BitLife and work from scratch.

This is a common issue not only with bit life, but also with the Life Simulator. True, I have never had children in the life simulator, because I usually don’t make it that far, but I would assume it would be the same basic principle. We will continue on our current path. One change I am going to make however, I have decided to consider increasing the age to 18 years for the game to continue. This is to satisfy growing requests for toddler and childhood/teenage experiences. Let me know if anyone takes issue with this.

By Paige on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

I feel like that sounds cool, but I'm not really sure how it would work. It's a lot easier to make a baby sim game, because the baby doesn't talk or anything, it just cries and needs to be cared for. But if you try to expand it to being an older child, how would the interactions work?

For teaching the child to talk, the microphone on the phone or iPad could be used. You could just talk into it. As for walking and stuff, I’m not sure.

By Naza on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

Hello, wow I love all these ideas! Yes I still play both my baby sim games and I love my little guys. Fortunately no the babies never die but if you neglect them they do get really sick and yes you got that horrible message that says game over you neglected then it gives the babies name for too long. You can You can end the game or continue it calling the ambulance. I think I’ve actually gotten almost all the words correct to that horrible message and that’s because unfortunately I’ve heard it so many times! I hate it and though this may sound dramatic, I’ve actually had nightmares about my baby dying and things. I mean that is a horrible message and if the games ever get updated in the future if the developers start working on them again someone needs to tell them to get rid of that message.

By Hilary Reed on Friday, January 24, 2020 - 04:40

Hi all. On Wednesday, I received an email from John saying that he has a potential sketch for the baby simulator. I told him to continue on with the development, as life simulators cannot give us what we are seeking. I think most of us feel that development of this project should continue. Other than that, nothing new to report. Let’s see what happens.

Any updates?

By Princess Thea on Thursday, March 24, 2022 - 04:40

I was interested in blindfold doggy but I wasn’t sure that the sound effects would be real enough to substitute for the fact that I can’t care for a real dog or cat any longer. I’m on the hunt for a serious oxytocin rush. If I can’t pet the tar out of a real dog or a cat, I’ll take what’s next. Whatever I can get my hands on. Or my ears.

By treky fan on Thursday, March 24, 2022 - 04:40

I've given up hope on there ever being an accessible game where you can take care of a baby. This form topic has not been active in over a year, and there have been no updates posted. So I'm guessing that we will not get the accessible baby caring game we want.

By Exodia on Thursday, March 24, 2022 - 04:40

Yeah, I have noticed that there's not much going on on this forum. I have been looking forward to a new baby care app, but unfortunately, I don't see anything happening I understand that it takes a long time to develop such an app, but they should at least keep us posted. I also understand that life gets in the way. Other than that, all those ideas I posted I still think are good ideas. Maybe when your kid becomes a toddler, He or she can play little mini games with you.

While I was taking care of my various wigit pets last night before going to bed, I was given a prompt on my phone asking me if I wanted to download wigit baby. Since widgitt pet can be used with voiceover, I figured, oh what the heck, might as well give this game a try!I downloaded the game andafter areeing to the privacy polcy and terms, I was all set to go! This game is like widit pet, but you take care of a baby instead! The game is completely accessible and better yet, the devs are always updating widit pet, so I have a feeling this will be updated as well. I will post an app directory entry soon!

I was curious, so I read through parts of this thread. I so appreciate AppleVis for bringing folks together like this. I was very happy when I found this site in 2010 after purchasing my Mac. I am not personally interested in this type of app, but I do hope it happens for you guys.

By Miss Pillows on Sunday, April 24, 2022 - 04:40

Hello to the person that updated about the new baby caring app Thank you I have found it accessible so far My virtual baby is at stage 3 she sure does love to eat (and sleep)

By The next step fan on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 - 04:40

Any news on the baby doctor game

By Miss Pillows on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 - 04:40

No there has been no new updates from the people who started the thread about the accessible virtual baby care simulator I think they gave up on it honestly

By treky fan on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 - 04:40

Hi there, I think you were talking about my baby sim. Sadly, that game is no more. The devs stopped working on it for no reason a few years ago. I still have both versions of the game on my phone, but I'm not sure you can even download them from the app store anymore. That game had a lot of potential to be expanded if you ask me.

By Squirrel on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 - 04:40

Am I right in thinking that Marty has stopped development of his Blindfold series of games? It's been a long time since I have seen mention on here of a new game in the series or even an update release .

By Miss Pillows on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 - 04:40

Hello I’m not sure if blindfold has stopped developing apps or not as far as the baby care app went they had done it through a developer called woodside apps I think. Also they weren’t talking about my baby sim they were asking about the baby simulator that the people who started the thread was supposed to develop a while back

By Daniel Angus M… on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 - 04:40

Hi all,

The Blindfold games are still being developed. The latest release is blindfold shape finder. It’s a game where you have to trace different shapes on the screen. It’s $13.99 on the Canadian App Store. There is a find the shape game, view all shapes, and a match the shape game. There is also explore all shapes.

Hello, what happened with this thread? It went quiet and I would love for this game to actually become a reality☺️

By Siobhan on Sunday, March 24, 2024 - 04:40

I believe he's gone toward educational games. If you keep looking there are child care games, one released say in the past six months that might do what you want.

By treky fan on Sunday, March 24, 2024 - 04:40

In reply to the last poster, I was wondering if you could pass along some ideas for baby caring games or post the ones you've found. I've searched the app store and although I can find games that let you take care of a baby, most of them don't work with voiceover.

By Hilary Reed on Sunday, March 24, 2024 - 04:40

Hello all,
I recently saw some additional activity on this thread. Unfortunately, I don't think the developer we were collaborating with is able to do this project? I think Apple's structure and rules has been creating struggles for him. I recently found an app called AirTasker, which is an app where you can hire free lance workers to do various tasks. I was wondering if it would be worth trying to find someone through that platform that may be able to help us? I know that this could get expensive very quickly, and I'm new at this, so I would appreciate any thoughts and/or advice you may have about this decision. I know that we have Widget Baby, but am I right in thinking that there is still a desire for a child care game with sound effects?

By treky fan on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 - 04:40

Hi Hillary. I can't speak for everybody on this thread, but I'm still interested in a game with sound. As for wigit baby, it got very boring verry fast. There just aren't many care actions you can do with the baby unless they've done some major updating to the game since the last time I played it.

By Naza on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 - 04:40

Hello, I’ve started playing WidgetBaby, but it doesn’t have any sound effects which is really unfortunate, so it would be great if sound effects would be added, but also we still need more baby caring games!☺️

By Naza on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 - 04:40

Are we ever going to have a game like this?
