Haven't been able to find this anywhere. I can't seem to perform an advanced search in Finder, meaning that I can't limit the search to "kind" or apply any other filters. The location to search also seems pretty much randomly to reset to "on my Mac" after I've selected the current folder instead. The directions given here haven't worked: after hitting enter in the search field, there's no "add" button, no "context menu on the far left," and no filter options in the scroll area. I actually did get those to appear once or twice, but I have no idea what the secret sacred dance of the keyboard is to make this magic happen. Help?

Advanced Serch
After pressing command-f or pressing search button in the toolbar, type something in the search field. As you type a menu will appear. After typing, arrow through the menu that has appeared and press enter on the criterion you want.
Stop interacting with the toolbar and move vo through the items on the screen with vo-right until you come to the search radio buttons and select this mac or current folder.
Move vo until you get to the "hide search criteria toggle button and make sure it is selected to show the advanced options. This is counter intuitive, but it apparently doesn't have a correct accessibility label for the toggled on state.
Keep moving vo with vo-right until you come to the options. Interact with the scroll area to access the search results.
