I heard that with the iPhone14 in the fall of this year they will be getting rid of the mini version of the phones for $699. I hope not because I like that $700 pricepoint. Also I wonder if all iPhone14 models will come with lidar?

Rumors that the mini will be discontinued have been circulating long enough and from so many sources (some typically quite accurate) that it feels like a shoe-in. Kind of disappointing personally, as I'm likely to be upgrading this year from an iPhone 12 Pro, and a mini model of the iPhone 14 would probably have been my preference.

It will be interesting to see if the rumors of Apple replacing it in the range with a lower price ‘Max’ will be correct.

As for LiDAR, there were rumors last year that it would be in all of the iPhone 13 models. That didn't happen. At some point all of the models will get it, so maybe this will be the year. Most likely it will depend on whether it costs Apple more to keep it exclusive to the Pro models. That might seem odd, but some times in the life of products/technologies sharing design and components across multiple models makes sense financially.

I can't say that I've been excited so far by any of the iPhone 14 rumors.

I am hearing that there will be 4 iPhones. 1 iPhone pro, 1 iPhone pro max, 1 regular iPhone 14 and iPhone plus. I am planning to go from the 12 iPhone pro to the 14 iPhone pro max. My 12 pro will be for a friend. She has the 6 x. Is time for her to get a new iPhone.

I had the 11 pro max and like it very much. Battery was great but after I got the 12 pro, I gave it to a wonderful lady. I heard the battery will be great. I agree regarding everything else. Hope iOS 16 will be much better and stable for accessibility.

I know this topic was about the 14, which holds very little interest to me as an SE2 user. Mostly because I enjoy my Touch ID. I'm hoping they can either get that into the 14 line-up, which I expect won't happen, or if they will role out the SE3 with Touch ID. I don't miss the home button really, but did miss Touch ID when I had an XR for awhile. If no Touch ID, no interest from me. 5G doesn't excite very much, so that's not a selling point for me. 4G is good enough and still more reliable from what I've read, even in areas where the carriors claim they have 5g service.

Sadly all the rumours do indeed point to the mini going away. I have the 12 mini and love it, except for the battery life. Because of that I am possibly tempted to get a 13 mini rather than a 14 if I upgrade at all, which I may not.

I'm hoping for an update to the SE 3rd generation as well. I use the 2nd generation for gaming heavily and I'm finding that I'm constantly frustrated with lag time issues. The new chipset should resolve the problems. I use the XS as my primary and it's fine for daily use, but it needs to be upgraded, as well. however, for gaming, the home button is a must for me, not the one located on the side. Hate my primary device because of that reason, specifically for my gaming activities. here's hoping that the SE gets a 3rd generation release this year.

I love my 12 mini+magsafe battery pack. Gives me the best of both worlds; the compact-size phone that I've always preferred, plus the longer battery life I miss from the larger phones.

It's always neat to see the new stuff they come out with though. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the line up if the rumored third generation SE does come out in March. Will they drop the 11 and put the new SE in that spot and keep the current one? Will they just replace the current SE? I kind of doubt that. Or maybe they add the new SE, keep the 11, drop the current SE even lower and get rid of the 7th gen iPod Touch. Kind of surprised that's still around.
