Using Kodi and other media apps

macOS and Mac Apps

Hi,
I am a new MacBook Air M1 owner. This is my first time using Mac but I also have an iPad and have been using IOS for the past several years. Does anyone know if the Kodi media center is usable on Mac? If so, how can I install it and get the speech add-on enabled? It doesn't have to be the newest version but the most recent version with working speech would be great. I use this on Windows and would really love to use it on the Mac as well. I am also wondering if the Emby app is accessible with voiceover? Lastly, I was a Winamp user on Windows, so is there a good Winamp equivalent for Mac? I am slowly but surely learning my way around the Mac and hope to find answers to these questions soon.

Kodi is accessible on Mac, yes.
I believe if you just copy your add-on configuration from Windows in to your Mac version of Kodi, things should work as normal... You go to ~/Library/Application Support/Kodi
And the Addons folder is in there.
Command+Shift+G
is like Windows+R in Windows, just put that path in when you open the Go To dialog from the Finder, or Desktop.
BTW
Amazing that you posted this, because I've been messing with Kodi on my Mac this morning hours ago prior to seeing this.

Hi Dominique,
Thanks for the info about Kodi being accessible. I sent you a private message on here but in case you didn't get it, is there a way to copy the folder without using the Go box? I've done minimal command line work with windows and absolutely none with Mac and am a bit hesitant to use command line when I'm still getting used to Mac. Is there a different way it can be done? Feel free to private message me through this website.
