Hi, i'm wondering can people give me recommendations please for accessible smart plugs, in other words you plug one into an outlet and plug another device into it, then you can use an app to schedule timers for example for things to switch on and off.
I have already tried a range of plugs called tekin smart plugs, these worked with an app called smart life and I don't think they had actual home kit support. I was recommended these by another VoiceOver user on the strength that their app was accessible. Unfortunately when I got these plugs I found the app had major accessibility issues, for example buttons with no labels, the account sign up process was inaccessible etc. Unfortunately an app update then broke the limited functionality I could use with VoiceOver so scheduling became inaccessible. Writing to support has been useless, one or two line responses at best and its clear they simply don't understand my messages as their first language isn't English, they think I want them to add features to the app. So avoid the smart life app from volcano technology and accessories that need it.
Anyway, i'm now on the hunt for something that will actually either work with the home kit app itself or where its app is directly accessible. Of course now i'm stuck with a set of useless smart plugs that i'm going to have to sell.

I have several TP-Link smart plugs. They work perfectly with the Kasa app which is very accessible for remote use and setting timers. Very easy to set them up with Alexa also

I too have a couple of Casa smart plugs. Like the previous poster, I found the app mostly okay to use.
Another option is meross Smart Plug Mini. I've got a couple of these. The app is okay. Some minor issues, but nothing major that I've noticed. However, because they have HomeKit support, most of everything is done in the Home app. They are also very good value for money. Highly recommended by me.

Also, check out homebridge. It can bring non-native homekit accessories to homekit, and has great smart life support so you'll be able to use your devices through the home app or siri.

I hope to purchase some accessible smart home accessories to help me in my flat, because i live alone.
I do not have smart lights etc, but need somethings that i can Control somethings while am away.
so, 1st of all, what is the best speaker to pruchase? Homebod mini? or google? or the amazon 1?
and what are the best smart accessories that we can use?

What do you wish to control? There are loads of different accessories out there, so its a bit hard to advice ATM. For example, I have most of my home controlled on smart plugs and a few connected lights. Homekit is pretty accessible, although setting up some products might require you scanning a QR code on the device or package. Since its a sticker, its tactile so pretty easy to do when totally blind.

On a related note, trying to get help with smart anything from support is so often useless isn't it? I have been trying to talk to the instant Pot guys about why having the Instant Pot pro Plus in the UK would be so great for accessibility but at times I feel I'm being deliberately misunderstood. I think your explanation, Alex, that english is not their first language is diplomatically charitable.
