Hello!

I have downloaded the BC4000 game and begun to play but I don't know how to continue after I have built the first city. What shall I do next to get the city to grow and get food etc?

Go into your city's menu and make sure that the city is producing workers. Each city can own up to 2 workers for free. Once you have workers or setlers, move them around your city and mine or irrigate the land tiles surrounding it. Try to strike a balance between food, shield and trade. If a certain action doesn't satisfy you, you can often reverse it bye mining the tile again. Note however, you can't mine all tiles more than once. Some hills and glaciers are an example. Alternatively, you can set your workers to auto work, So they will do the mining and irrigating by themselves.

i've read some people saying that it's really accessible and others saying that it's not so.
i have downloaded the game and looked at it a little but haven't really had the time to delve properly into it. so if people could be as detailed as possible with regards to just how playable this game is etc then i'd be greatful.

The only thing not accessible, is the galaxy mode, as we currently doesn't have access to the map. I would say, the rest of the game is fully accessible. If you understand and are familiar with navigating the map, you shouldn't have any problems. Also, the game is free, so there is no harm in giving it a shot. I guess the thing that really gets to people is the fact that there are so many things to keep track of, making it seem extremely overwhelming. Indeed, I almost quit on the first day, but I persevered and I'm glad I did. It's not a matter of accessibility, but rather a matter of complex ability.

How to make specialists in a city? I don't understand how to do.

Go into the city menu and check out the mini map at the top. Click on one of the food tiles to make a citizen stop working on it. You can then change them into a specialist. Note that sometimes it can cause food problems. Sometimes when there's too many citizens, you can make use of the opportunity to make specialists without having to remove working citizens, which is actually better. My best advice is to just check the specialist menu often without having to remove working citizens. If all your citizens are working, there won't be any specialists needed and the game will tell you that there are no specialists yet. If you have spare citizens standing around, The list will appear where you can choose to maximise your science, happiness or food.
