Real icons versus voiceover labeling

Hi everyone,
So I’m trying to help someone learn how to use an iPhone who is not a voiceover user, the first thing I’m trying to teach them is to how to make phone calls and answer phone calls, you know, usually, on the keypad, there’s a call button, but people tell me that visually there isn’t a call button, so how exactly is the call button represented in non-voiceover UI elements? what is it labeled without voiceover, another thing is the answer and the decline button, also, not sure if this is the right form to be posted on, if this is not the right place to post, please let me know and provide me with other sources.
Thanks

I've wanted a description of icons for years. Not only will it help my father, but i love freaking people out when you say bottom middle of the screen, the graphic with the dots. Maybe someone should write to apple or something. we always have people complaining about this or that, when this is something that clearly should be addressed.

I was just pulling out my hair over this with iMovie because the help information on the Web either shows the icon image, which can't be read by a screen reader, or describes the icon, which, of course, has nothing to do with what Apple has labeled the icon for voice over. Telling them to look at the position on the screen, as in bottom right or something like that, is as close as you're going to get with this one if you don't have a sighted person going over it with you. Someone started a thread on the forum a long time back looking for actual descriptions of icons, and it went nowhere beyond hamburgers for Menus and dots for More Options.
To be fair, I've witnessed sighted people get confused and frustrated with what icons are supposed to mean, so it might not just be a blind person's problem...
