Sometimes, when using the on-screen keyboard to type into a text field with VoiceOver on, I am unable to switch to the numeric keyboard. When I tap the Numbers key, it seems to insert a space rather than switching keyboards. This can make it impossible to sign in to a website or app if I've used numbers or special characters in my userid or password. I have reported this to Apple. Have any of you encountered this? As workarounds, you can connect a Bluetooth keyboard or access the credentials you've saved in Apple's keychain thingee, but if those are unavailable, you may be out of luck!

Dictate, or text replacement
Hi. You can dictate, or you can use settings>general>keyboard>text replacement. For example, I use bb for my email address. When I type it, text replacement turns it into the full address. If the numbers can't be accessed inside the text replacement area, dictate them and edit as needed.
