Since the release of iOS 15, I've been having issues with typing. I used direct touch typing and had software keyboard set to speak words, but when I'd type and hit the space key, instead of the word, VoiceOver just said space. This is still an issue, even with iOS 15.2, and I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue and maybe there's some sort of workaround I don't know about. For now, I have switched to touch typing, which works fine, though it slows me down significantly when it comes to typing on my phone.

I wish I could help, but I can't reproduce it. I use direct touch myself, and it's reading words like always in 15.

I just tested it, using my iPhone 13 pro max, running iOS 15.2, and using the Alex voice.
It worked as expected.
In fact, I’m typing this comment using direct touch typing.

That's really interesting, maybe it matters what iPhone you have? I have the iPhone 11, I'm not sure why that'd matter though.
