Free Accessible Apps To Ask Doctors Questions

Greetings.

Are there any accessible apps to ask doctors questions for free?

I’d like to ask a minor question, just out of curiosity, and all the apps I’ve tried so far have some critical inaccessibility issue.

Thanks.

I have used my local healthcare provider's online portal--and more recently their iOS app--for a few years with good success. I prefer not to give out the name of this healthcare provider, but I'm pretty sure they're using the MyChart platform which I think is developed by Epic Systems. Both the app and accompanying portal went through a major update recently, and they're even more accessible than they were. I don't know if the fact that I have current and former medical family members played a part in this, but I've been very pleased with the screen reader accessibility. Registration on their online portal was a tad problematic due to an audio CAPTCHA which kept timing out, but I think that has since been replaced with Google's checkbox CAPTCHA. I don't know how many other healthcare providers if any use this platform, but I highly recommend it. Actually I think at least one other healthcare provider in my area uses it.

Hello Misty: At the start of the Pandemic, I signed up with an app called Teladoc. Since I haven't needed to use it, I'm not sure if you can ask questions without a telephone appointment.

Also, you can check Web MD on your computer. You may be able to find the answers you need.

Good luck!

Are you talking about wanting to communicate with your current healthcare provider? As mentioned above MyChart if your healthcare system participates in it. Very accessible. In fact the developer does know about voiceover so therefore I think that's why it's so accessible. You also may need an activation code when registering which you can get from your provider.
If you are just wanting to ask any doctor a particular question then you would use teledoc but you can't ask questions on it you would indeed have to set up an appointment on the app which is subject to billing.
