I’ve noticed over the last three days that I can’t change the punctuation setting on my iPhone using voiceover. I haven’t changed in the settings prior to that. I am using iPhone 11. I’m have tried changing the settings multiple times. I have tried to power down the phone and start it again. I have turn voiceover off and turned it back on to reset it. I am running the latest version of iOS. I don’t see any update notices in the settings so I am up-to-date on my iOS. Any insights would be appreciated. Thank you. :-) oh I should tell you that the punctuation no matter which setting I turn it to shows all and repeats everything. This is quite tedious.

Voiceover activities
Maybe you have an activity selected that is causing that.
Make sure you don’t have one selected.
No activities selected and I believe I have fixed the problem :-
Thank you. Honestly, I’ve never understood how to add activities. I did go and check the settings and there is none selected under activities. So apparently I haven’t added anything. :-) I did however fix the problem. Apparently my screen was not picking up gestures from my hands because I found I had other problems so I went and cleaned my screen. I was able to fix the problem. What made me fix the screen was that I have another iPhone and it wasn’t engaging in the same behavior so I thought it might be the screen. I do tend to use it quite a bit. So I went and wiped it with Dawn dish soap and water and cleaned off the grease. I appreciate your insight and if I can ever figure out how to use activities I might try something. :-) Thank you.
If that's the case...
It's funny, my thick, glass screen protector causes issues with gestures in some spots, and even double taps are sometimes interpreted as just moving the focus of VO. It's very aggravating, but iPhones are way too delicate for me to use without a case and screen protection.
Well, I woke up this morning and fix the problem I thought. :-)
Remember, I cleaned the screen. The screen looks great now. Later on in the afternoon I went to take a nap and plug the phone into the charger. There was nobody near the phone. When I woke up and went back into the room to resume activities I found that the punctuation setting had changed to all. I don’t know how that happened since I didn’t touch it. So I took the suggestion of Lucky101 who had posted earlier and went to the activities setting. I’ve never played with activities so I’m not quite sure what its purpose is or how it works. But I started checking. I looked under programing and there was a setting for all in punctuation and that was the one that was selected. I don’t know how that changed because I didn’t change it. So I changed it to some which is a default setting. When I went to the screen again the problem seemed to be fixed. So I’m wondering how long this will happen and if it will happen again? Does my phone have a gremlin in it? Did the cat walk on the phone? That’s always a possibility. I don’t know how long this fix will last. I suppose we will find out. :-) The phone is two years old and it’s an iPhone 11. I don’t know if that has anything to do with anything. :-)
My custom punctuation scheme cannot be completely deleted
I think there have been some bugs in the punctuation settings of VoiceOver. For example, I have been unable to delete the two custom punctuation schemes I created earlier.Specifically, when I swipe to delete with the rotor gesture and click, they seem to disappear from the list, but after a while they will return to the list of custom solutions. The custom punctuation scheme is bound to the Apple ID, so even if I replaced a new iPhone later, the problem still exists.I have reported the problem to Apple but it seems that they have not found a solution for the time being.
