You're lucky that you're able to do anything at all.
I can't seem to get it to work. Someone told me on Facebook that the developers said they will fix the VoiceOver issues, however I'd like to see it first.
Screen recognission doesn't work for me
Screen recognission doesn't work for me. I've turned it on in settings, selected the app, but it's still not accessible at all for me. The only difference is that voiceover doesn't say Direct Touch any more.
Screen Recognition
That's odd. What device and version of IOS are you using?
can't play this game
When I heard this game had been released, I was exicited to download and try it. I was highly disapointed to discover that unlike bitlife, doglif is completely unusable. My device doesn't support screen recongnition, at least I haven't found it in settings. I'm using an Iphone SE 2020.
I have
I have an iPhone se 2020 and it works with screen recognition.
Let me just ask something real quick.
When you say screen recognition, do you mean screen recognition only, or do you have text recognition and image recognition in able as well?
Regarding screen recognition
I personally use all three but I think you could probably turn just screen recognition on for DogLife and be fine.
mixed results with screen recognition
After turnning on screen recognition, I've noticed some mixed results when trying to play. For one thing, it seems like you have to close the app and reopen it before you can do anything. When I open the app, and try to age up, nothing happens. But when I close the app and reopen it, I'm able to age up. another thing I've noticed is that even with screen recognition turned on, you get stuff scattered all over the screen, making it hard to find certain buttons or really do anything. Does anybody know how to work around these issues? Thanks.
more observations about dog life
There are a few more things I've observed about dog life that have made me remove the game from my phone until the issues are fixed. When several events pop up one after the other, you can't find the buttons to perform an action. Using the settings that others have mentioned odes make the game somewhat useable, but its still hardly playable. As I like bitlife, I'll give this game another try once they've fixed the voiceover issues.
I'm using an IPhone SE2…
I'm using an IPhone SE2 running on IOS 14.8.1. I've turned screen recognition on, however when I go into the app, nothing happens. I try to turn screen recognition on using the router, however it just goes into direct touch, and it's still not accessible.
I've got the same phone as…
I've got the same phone as you. I've tried screen recognition however I can't seem to get it to work. Here is what you can try to get yours working though. First, go to settings. Go to accessibility, then Voiceover. Next, go to Voiceover Recognition. Turn Screen recognition on, then go to the bottom of the page where it says apply to apps. It will come up with a full list of apps. Click DogLife then press on back which is at the top of the screen. Let me know if that works for you
Accessibility
I tried emailing the support@bitlifeapp.com last year and never got a response. I'm going to try again and see if they can make it more accessible and I'll let ya'all know if I get a response.
Does anyone know if the…
Does anyone know if the developer is going to fix the accessibility issues?
I just emailed them
Here's hoping they'll fix it, I was really hoping this game would be accessible, as bitlife has provided me with countless laughs over the past 3 years. We'll see what they say, if they even respond. I told them I'd be more than happy to test out voiceover compatibility in future versions. One can always hope.
Tried contacting them through messenger
I just sent them a message through Facebook Messenger so we'll see if they reply.
good news!
Hi everybody, first of all, let me start off this post by saying happy new year! Ever since bitlife dogs and bitlife cats got released, I've checked both apps to see if they've added voiceover support. All that checking has paid off! On Saturday, while checking bitlife dogs, I was happy to notice that in the release notes, it said that voiceover support had been added, with bitlife cats also showing the same thing in the release notes. Like bitlife, both apps use the unity plugin. To enable voiceover support after you have downloaded and installed the apps, do the following. One, open each app you have just downloaded. Two, once the app has opened, turn off voiceover. Three, turn voiceover back on again. I hope this helps, and happy playing!
Let’s do this
Happy new year everyone.
Can't get Voiceover gestures to work.
I must say i was really excited to hear of a pet simulator app that's accessible for Voiceover users. My issue is however, when i open the app i can't get any gestures to work, meaning i can't get the rotor to move so i can activate the direct touch, and nothing happens when i double-tap the "accept privacy" button. I'm using latest version of iOS on an iPhone SE2020, so can't quite understand why it won't work for me. Anything else i can try to even get the game going? BitLife cats is giving me the same issue.
Turn voice-over off, then on while in the app.
If you still struggle with accepting privicy settings, open the settings app on your phone and accept them from there.
can't accept privacy settings
I even tried with screen recognition but there's no way.
