I just recently came across the keyboard commander settings in the VoiceOver utility. If I now enable keyboard commander and assign the right CMD key along with certain letters to corresponding commands, will it overwrite already assigned system commands? Or how can they be executed otherwise? Let's take Safari as an example. If I press the right CMD key and L, I'll open the address field. But if I have assigned another command for CMD and L in the keyboard commander of VoiceOver, will only this command be executed? Or is there also a way to use the system command again without constantly deactivating and reactivating the keyboard commander?

Keyboard Commander is a great time saver, so I would definitely encourage you to explore how you can fit it in to your own use of the Mac.
Just to clarify, it's the Option key that's used for Keyboard Commander - not the Command key - so it shouldn't interfere with any default/system shortcuts.
In my case, I have it configured to use only the right Option key, and this works well.

Thanks for the clarification, I meant I earlier heard about using the cmd key in keyboard commander but if you use the option key instead, this should indeed work fine. There's only one thing left I'm curious about, when you press option+l with the right option key, will this work even though the right option key is assigned in the keyboard commander?
My understanding
I believe that Option plus the L key is used to type the ¬ symbol, correct?
If you haven't assigned the L key in Keyboard Commander to a task, then it should continue to work as expected with either the left or right Option key.
If you have assigned the L key in KeyBoard Commander, then using the right option key with ‘L’ will perform that assigned task, and you would need to use the left Option key to insert the ¬ symbol.
