Loopy HD is quite accessible considering the complexity and the visual nature of this app. Be prepared to spend an hour or two figuring out how things work and reading through the help tutorials to understand all the gestures involved.
Please keep an important thing in mind that most of the gestures invoke VoiceOver's Direct TOuch feature which means:
- when you flick or touch-drag to the track control, the next gesture is passed directly through to the app. This is how you would record/play/mute the track in focus.
- most of the gestures that sighted users would use apply to us as well.
- this app is most usable if you use touch exploration as opposed to flicking.
Once you get familiar with the interface, I would suggest to turn VoiceOver hints off as they may interact with your recordings if you are using microphone as your input.

Hi, if anyone's using this app please could you give me some basic description/instructions to get started? I've tried just exploring the screen and come across various tracks but all I've managed to do is accidentally start recording and not be able to stop recording. Could anyone help?
I just redownloaded this app after several years and was quite surprised just how easy it is now to use, at least on iOS 15.
The main UI consists of 8 pads, called tracks. For each pad there is a context menu that can be reached by swiping to the left from the associated track. Start and stop recording by double-tapping on the track. Once the track has been recording, it starts looping automatically. You can mute or unmute it via a double-tap.
At the bottom of the screen you will find the area where you can control various parameters of the app. First, choose from the panel on the right, it's a slider. Every time you swipe the slider, the controls on the left side of that area will change. Just pllay with them and the interface should become obvious!
