Weather Gods 3.3.3 Released

Hi All,

Hope everyone is keeping well.

We have a new release up on the App Store, which brings some new features.

Weather Station
You can now choose the type of weather station that Weather Gods queries for the latest observation. The default is Metar and this generally means airports providing the observation data.

We also have PWS which is a popular network for home based weather stations. One of our users has successfully added his weather station to PWS and now the data is showing in the app.

If you are interested in the Metar format then the app can also display the raw data as it was sent from the weather station. There are guides online about how to decode the metar information and I found it quite interesting when I was developing the feature.

Moon Information
I have changed the moon data to be from the same source for the app, Siri, widget and the watch. Previously they used different sources and I wasn't happy with consistency. Now they should all be consistent.

I have also added a 31 day lunar calendar, which sits alongside the upcoming moon phases when the moon data is showing.

Finally we (hopefully) have fixed some of the Apple Watch bugs with the 38mm watch face.

As ever, many thanks to our army of beta testers and translators for helping with the beta testing and translations.

If you enjoy Weather Gods, and haven't left a review, then we would love to receive your feedback on the App Store.

Scott

I noticed that Voiceover takes 1 or 2 seconds to read the temperature. Does not make a different wich face I use. However if I tap on the face and slide to the Godsvoiceover is fast. I wander if this is WG or VO issue. Using Series 5 with OS 8.

Hi Holger,

Is this the WG temperature complication or the temperature which is part of some of the other complications?

Thanks
Scott

WG. In all my faces I selected WG and selected temperature or smart condition. Both give me the temperature.

Scott, thanks as always for everything. The addition of weather stations is nice. I haven't played around with this feature much yet due to time constraints. But it seems to get along nicely with VoiceOver.

Hello Scott,
After updating, I cannot find how to enable push notifications. When I look under notification settings on my iPhone 12 pro max, weather gods is not even listed as one of the apps; nor did I find how to enable notifications in the weather gods app under settings.

Hi Usman,

Can you swipe to the notifications button at the top of the page and double tap. This will load the notifications settings page. Swipe through and choose which notifications to enable. The device should ask if you want to allow Weather Gods to send push notifications.

If this still doesn't work then please send me an email from the feedback option in settings and I will try and assist.

Thanks Ekaj, the weather stations stuff is proving quite popular. If you ever fancy getting your own weather station and its compatible with PWS (https://www.pwsweather.com) then you can have Weather Gods use the data from your station.

Hi Holger,

I've run a bunch of tests today with different complications and for me Voiceover reads the temperature value immediately, if I swipe to it or direct tap/touch.

Not sure what else to suggest really, other than maybe remove all the Weather Gods complications and then add them back in one at a time.

Once again a awesome app. This is one reason I won't go back to android. It is my favorite and most used app. Thank you Scott for all you do.
