Hello. I've just read an excellent news about the new Vocalizer Expressive version 3.0 for NVDA and it's features, there are 70 new voices. I'm not Certain

I'm not certain, but I have used some of the vocalizer voices with JAWS. To my ear, they are no different than the voices iPhone uses now. They are the old Realspeak voices, Tom, Karen, Samantha, Daniel, etc. Frankly, the best thing Apple could do in my mind would be to ditch those voices and get the Ivona voices or, barring that, the Neospeech voices. Of one thing we can definitely be glad about. Voice synthesis has come a LONG way since the days of the Apple II computers. Can you imagine?

Unfortunately I haven't used windows since a long time, I 've used JAWS with Elequince, and since I switched to Mac OS X I depend on VoiceOver's default TTS. I found the new version of Vocalizer version 3.0 great, especially with other languages like Arabic. a new voice has been added called Tariq. On windows Acapela TTS is used a lot between Arab users, I find the voice quality ok, but the performance is bad, because it's hevy and most screen readers stop talking. I'm not aware of Nio TTS, but I've used Ivona TTS on a windows machine, I love it for reading long text and news papers.

I've heard too about this news, but i don't know whether they will be added or not to both Mac Os and IOS, it would be really cool to have these new voices on IOS i believe if its qualities are great and its not heavy and Thanks for the news

Memories of the Echo II

Oh yes. My first experience with speech synthesis was the Echo II on and Apple 2E. I remember how much I wanted one of my own. I wouldn't like Apple going for Ivona voices though. I have them on my PC and they are better than most and fast enough to be efficient but the Vocalizer voices are faster and seem to have less pronunciation foibles. i saw where ATGuys was selling the new voices for NVDA but it looks like the licensing is more restrictive and I didn't find samples to see if I would like them better.

I totally agree. Vocalizer is the best TTS for PC users, better than Acapela in my opinion. Ivona isn't bad, it's good enough for reading long texts, books, news papers, I won't recommend it on Apple computers though.
