I just attended a Leadership conference, where I was the only visually impaired person there. The other people who attended wanted to use GroupMe to keep in touch. I am happy to report that I am using this app with very few issues. There are some places where this app could be improved, but if you are just wanting to chat, it works great! I definitely think the accessibility comments on this app need to be updated... I am glad I didn't check AppleVis before giving it a go, because I'd be missing out...

Hello Yessie, Thanks for the update! Glad to hear that the app itself has appeared to make things more accessible! What kind of rating would you say are in the new version? Buttons, Elements, and How much of it are Acessible? At that point we can update it to reflect it correctly for others to view! Thanks!

Good afternoon, I wanted to make sure I'd looked over the entire app before posting another comment. Most of the app is accessible, and it is pretty easy to use. It's setup kind of like the Facebook app, with two slide out panes on the left and the right of the screen. Setting up an account, connecting with other services and changing settings are all accessible. If you are added to a group, you will receive a push notification, and it is very easy to chat from there. If you want to create a group, however, there is one small issue. After choosing people, it doesn't tell you the names that are already in the text field. The only place I've had problems is in the right pane that comes up when you click the more information button in a group. There are three buttons at the top, which VoiceOver doesn't read. They allow you to look at photos and split costs for things with the rest of the group. You can also see members here, and VoiceOver does read them, but you cannot click on them. You can edit the name of the group, and how your name appears with no problem. Lastly, at the bottom of the screen, there is a mute switch to turn off alerts for the group. VoiceOver calls it an adjuster even though it is a switch, and it doesn't tell you if it is on or off. It does work, though. So, in my opinion, this app works great. The right pane needs some work, though, and it would be nice if it would tell you names you've already added in the text field when creating a group. I hope this helps! If there are any more questions, just let me know.
