iPhone with Dell Mobile Connect

Has anyone here successfully gotten Dell Mobile Connect to work with their iPhone? I was able to get through setup by using Seeing AI. The iPhone app is about as far from accessible as you can get.

When I am using the actual app on windows there are only a few things I can do. I can’t read text messages I have received. I know they are there because I’ve had a sighted person look. I can’t read the contacts list. I am able to send a text message if I manually enter the number.

About the only thing it does well is let me see my notifications. Even then, it doesn’t keep them in chronological order.

For what it’s worth, I have informed dell of these problems. Has anyone else using this come up with any solutions.

PS I have tried it with both JAWS and NVDA.

When I first got my del in February 2020, I could read text messages and reply to them. It got updated at some point and now it doesn't work at all. I don't think the iPhone app is as important -- it's just to connect with your phone, but the computer interface has gotten worse.

My experience with Dell's software products has been always shitty.
Dell stage, Dell support assist in the beginning, Max Audio Pro, and countless other softwares. All have been very inaccessible.
No surprise that the Dell Mobile connect is inaccessible.
I was looking in to KDE connect, and even though It does work, the experience with NVDA is not that great.

PinkCupcake, there's actually a new version of Mobile Connect. The phone is more accessible. I briefly tried to install it on my computer and it would lock JAWS up. I didn't have the time to try a different screen reader, and I haven't messed with it since.

SeasonKing, I actually don't use most of Dell's software. I've had my issues with MaxxAudio which I won't get into here, and it's easier to update my computer myself than it is to use Support Assist. Having said all of that, Dell Mobile Connect wasn't made by Dell. It was made by a company called Screenovate, and they sold the rights to Dell for a limited amount of time. That period of exclusivity has now ended, and you can find the same app from Screenovate without Dell branding. I was going to contact them about their accessibility, but I couldn't find any contact information for them.

It's actually a new app by the same name. I can't find the version number, but if you search on the appstore you'll see one that is titled Dell Mobile Connect 3.3 and another that doesn't have a version number. It's the one without the version number. There's also a new version on the Microsoft Store.

I don't know if you want to try it though. When I tried it I noticed it was a RAM hog, and I saw a review for it saying the same thing.
