SoundLab Audio Editor

Hi. I downloaded the app yesterday. I like it. I wonder how it compares to other multitrack recording apps on IOS and iPad OS. :-)

The app claims to have all this functionality, but the user interface is not very intuitive, and there does not seem to be any help or user guide to get any instructions from. For example, it’s not very obvious how you have to select tracks to edit or delete them, and even when you’re in the track editor, most of the buttons are "dimmed", or greyed out. I finally did figure out how to select tracks, but I'm still not finding how to overdub other tracks onto the first one I've recorded in order to make the multitrack recording the app promises I can make. But even when I do have something recorded, the "effect" button is dimmed within the track editor, and the "global effect" option only either gives reverb or chorus, but it does not give any other effect options at all. I really wish there was a user guide or tutorial of some sort, because even though all the buttons are labeled, that does no good if the interface is not very user intuitive.

Frankly speaking, in current version, the core editing function is difficult for VoiceOver users to use, and audio recorder, audio separator for sound seperation is ok.
I did not expect our product to be so popular with VoiceOver users, and current accessible functions are also achieved with the help of VoiceOver users.
Most of problem is caused by audio region is no way to be selected in VoiceOver mode. Now, I'm hurrying to implement a dedicated VoiceOver selection bar, to help user select range on iPhone / iPad directly, no need to rely on keyboard.
Hope this will solve the problem completely, and I will continue listen to users suggestion to imporve it.

Before the new version is ready, please don't use the editor function. And please contact to me via app built-in contact tools or send me email directly, I will send you a gift code for exchange permenant premium upgrade. Although it is useless for now, but I wish you can enjoy using the app when the full accessible editor is released.

So far all the app does is enable my iPad to record music to an MP4a file; it cannot yet edit. Attempts to use the contact link lead to warnings that site is unsafe, may be an imposter. Suggest waiting to subscribe.

Hi, I am author of the app. VoiceOver dedicated selection helper bar and MagicTap gesture for quick selecting is done a while ago. Let me post basic how-to introduction here, and let me know is it works, Thanks!

AudioRoom VoiceOver Help

 Basic Introduction for VoiceOver mode:
   1 please double click track item to make it selected, as the following region selecting operation target.

   2 timeline will announce current screen middle position, playhead and total duration of the editing, when you scroll it or focused it. timeline is a "Direct interaction" item, you can use single finger swipe left or right on it to do fast travel within the waveform.

   3 use magic tap can do quick select base on playhead position:
   when there is no selection, a new selected line will be placed at current playhead position;
   when there is selected line, the second selected line will be placed at current playhead position, to form a range    
selection with the first selected line
   when there is selected range, the magic tap will clear the selection.

  for the line and range selection:
  if there is a line selection, you can do insert at the line position, or paste already copied range,
  if there is a range selection, you can copy / cut / remove it, or use an already copied range replace it, or select a new file import and replace it, more, apply effect to the range.
  
  All these action can by redo / undo at any time, the selection will be also sync at the point, for example, if you select a range, and remove it, then there will be a selected line at the remove point, when you undo it, the removed range will come back, and the selected range will be also restore and wrap the restored range.

  The VoiceOver selecting help bar which at screen bottom and above the controlling bar, can help you make more free selection. The "select" button will place selected line at the middle of screen, the expand left / right button can change a selected line to range or versus, the move left / right button can change the position of selected line or range, but keep their region.

  Briefly, you can select a track, then use magic tap do fast select, or use selecting bar do high precision select.

I read the developers instructions regarding selecting with VoiceOver but I’m really confused as to what I am supposed to do. Is there a demonstration of this app with VoiceOver somewhere so that I could actually hear the app being used with VoiceOver?
