Hi
This is driving me crazy. I want to install Windows 10 on my Mac Air 2015. In the BootCamp wizard I can not select the disk to create the windows installation on. I tried many external hard disks and USB Flash Drives. I tried with various cables. External media I used were all detected in the Disk Utility and Finder. I tried with various format like FAT32 and XFAT still with no luck. Any idea how to solve this?
Thanks in advance for any help!

on 2015 and later intel Macs you do not need a flash drive to install windows. the assistant creates temporary partitions to install windows and the bootcamp support software. this was confusing to me too but once you setup bootcamp once, it's not confusing after that if you setup bootcamp again. M1 Macs do not support bootcamp and probably never will. Windows 11 requires a trusted platform module akin to the T2 chip on Macs to run. I predict when windows 11 is released that's the last nail in the coffin for bootcamp.
