Hello, folks, I cannot seem to get the enhanced Siri voice to use voice over on the Apple Watch 6 running watchOS 7.1. Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Shannon
Hi,
I exactly have the same problem on my Watch Series 6 running watchOS 7.1. Hopefully this gets fixed very soon. I recently read that this bug is just present on the latest Apple Watch, all other devices work fine.
I just got a series 6 yesterday, to replace my series 5, because it kept crashing.
Yes, I am experiencing the bug where you can’t use the Siri voice for voiceover.
I will be talking to someone from Apple Accessability, later today, and will definitely report this.
My series 6 is using the Siri American female voice with no issues. I clicked the box to turn it on during initial set up, and it just worked. I wish I had a better suggestion, but hope knowing it can, and does sometimes, work might give people experiencing the problem some hope.
Only thing I can think of is that the Siri voice might not actually be downloaded on your watch. I seem to remember when setting up my series 5 that I had to go into Siri settings on the watch and choose the voice I wanted, and connect to WiFi and/or keep my watch on the charger while the voice downloaded. I think it was a pretty big download, though nowhere as big as Alex.
Now that would be cool... Alex on the watch. Or at least some more voice options other than just compact Samantha and the Siri voices.
Hi. Just got my new Apple Watch six today. I got tired of the lousy battery life on my Series IV which has never been great, so decided to take the plunge as it cost me the same on my phone contract. I can’t get UK Siri female voice to install either. If I go into the settings it just tells me that I’m using a language that isn’t supported and is grade out. There is an update coming down to my watch tonight, so I’m hoping that might fix the problem, either that or the night on The charger
It seems that a night on the charger or the update to watchOS 7.5 fix my issue. I woke up in the morning to find that I had the Siri UK female voice working as my VoiceOver voice as well which I’m very pleased about. Never could stand Daniel. :-)
