Kindle app podcast with Voiceover?

Hi all,

I am looking for any podcast for guidance using the Kindle app on IOS for a friend. I recently suggested a friend to use the Kindle app on both his IOS as well as on his Mac & Windows laptop. While he quite liked my idea for the same, he wants to know if there are any podcasts for using this app with VO & more. I was looking for it on the Applevis podcasts page but could not find anything for it. Please point me to a podcast either on Apple vis or outside for the same.

Even I could have created a demo for it all myself but I no longer use an Iphone.

Thank you,

Hi,

I’m sorry to say, but kindle books cannot be read by voiceover on the mac, but it works great on iOS & Windows.
Kindle for Mac has its own text-to-speech, which means that you cannot select text, which is a huge bummer, because I may have to use kindle for my college textbooks.

Hi there! There should be a podcast on how to use it on iOS side of thingsHi there! There should be a podcast on how to use it on iOS side of things. When I first got the Kindle app on my iPad, that podcast was a lifesaver. I’ll see if I can find the link and post it to you. If I can find the link, it will be in this thread. Also, there is a free guide that he can get a think it’s called Kendall Accessibility guide. I can’t remember exactly what it’s called, because it’s been a few years since I got the Kindle app. I got it in 2016 for my iPad. But I do know that there is a book for the Kindle that he can get. It covers the iOS side of things. As for the Mac, I don’t have one, so I can’t comment on that front. But also, the book is free. So it doesn’t cost you anything..

I just checked, and I am sorry to say that, apparently, the podcast for the Kindle app is no longer on here. Or if it is, I can’t find it. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but Taylor used to be a podcast on the Kindle app on here? As far as it concerns the iOS side of things? Didn’t they used to be a podcast on here for the Kindle app for iOS?

Could I request you to share the link for the book you are talking about? I am really sad it's not really available as a podcast. I remember one of the apps I loved a lot while using IOS was Kindle & the other one was the mail app. & yes, not to forget WhatsApp.

I found using the kindle app very awkward when using VoiceOver. It just would not work anyway I wanted to. As I was using the VoiceOver voice to read a kindle book. So then I moved onto the Amazon Alexa app. Dad read any kindle book like an audiobook and I have since read over 30 books using this feature. I have just 100% walked away from the kindle app as I found it very awkward to use and move to the Amazon Alexa app which uses the kindle books like audiobooks and you can change voices also

I completely agree with your observations but the only challenge is around bookmarking. It is possible to insert bookmarks, comments, & even make notes while using the kindle app while all this may not be possible with Alexa. It is definitely a great option if you are only looking to read the book bunt not so much if you are reading a particular title for study purposes. & that's exactly where the challenge lies.

Here’s the title for the book. I’m sorry I can’t get a link for you. But you can type this into the search field on the Kindle app. Or maybe copy and paste it.

Thanks to everyone's guidance here. I have been able to finally compile a few useful links for anyone who may need them in future. Given below are the links to the kindle book being discussed in the comments above along with a youtube video from RNIB along with a tutorial from AFB. https://youtu.be/uUloN_e5DuQ https://www.afb.org/aw/14/6/15687 https://www.amazon.in/Kindle-iOS-Accessibility-Gestures-Reference-ebook/dp/B00CL5NIGU/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Kindle+for+iOS+Accessibility+Gestures+-+Quick+Reference+Guide&qid=1622444184&s=digital-text&sr=1-1
