Bombs just sound like watches running fast. There is no cuckoo clock sound going with it.

Personally, I love the new island.
It is so much fun and very tricky.
Those slippery stains can be a real pain in the neck.
I love those jumping treasures.
They are fun to chase all over the place.
I just don't get how exactly am I supposed to deal with those slippery stains.
Am I just supposed to get away from them as soon as possible?
Other than that, I truly love the new island.
The whole game is great.
I am currently at the top of the eternal light league only because the player who used to be at the top Has apparently stopped playing.
right now I have around 17,720 lights.
Well, talking about lights, I have a little question:
Why is it that I have never been able to get more than 17 lights?
The reason why I'm asking this is because, whenever I have been attacked, sometimes the attacker has been able to take up to 22 lights.
How and when does that happen?
that's it for now.
Please keep up the good work.
Sonar Islands is a really awesome game.
Thank you for having brought Sonar Islands to all of us.

I'm new to the game and I've completed the tutorial.
I find the moving around a bit cumbersome.
When I'm in compass mode it is very sensitive and that is also true when I'm not in compass mode.
Turning left and right is a pain.
It seems like I have to swipe and hold to turn but I would prefer to just swipe left or right to turn.
How does you guys and girls move quickly and effectively in the game?

By mentalhome.eu on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 17:21

Swiping is dynamic and due to the narrow phones a little bit tricky. Swipe as far as you can get, left or right, maybe you pratice on training camp island. In the full game you can choose between swipe, rotor-like turning and gyroscope.

By mentalhome.eu on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 17:21

Yes, best is to avoid them, when you hear the loop of the music, which is either the edge or a stain, get away. Other than you like to scratch like grandmaster flash.

Yes that player is me. As I had explained in an earlier post, I had reached the top, there was no way for me to get more gold as I was capped at 8.5 million at level 16, there was no way to spend any gold, as I had maxed out every single island, and it seemed rather silly to just keep opening the game only to find out I had repeatedly been attacked by computer-generated players (not real players) and to attack back solely to maintain my lights at where they were.

This was of course prior to the new island being released, but by that time, I had already canceled my subscription and deleted the game from my phone. And since Sonar Islands does not currently support saving progress, if I reinstalled it, I'd have to start over from scratch, which I am not doing. Not to mention even if my character was even restorable, I've probably by now lost thousands of lights, since your island is continuously attackable, and I'm not starting over from way down, knowing I was at the top as of the time I beat the game as the game stood then. :)

But it was certainly fun while it lasted. I just wish the game had been designed so as to not have it be 100% beatable within a few weeks, especially since a subscription model was used. If someone can beat the entire game in less than a month, there is really no reason for that person to keep paying for the game. If a one-time price model had been used, then I'd have gladly kept the game on my phone and perhaps continued playing once an update was released. But I'm sure the developers considered all this, so this is by no means a criticism of their decision, only an explanation of why I myself quit playing the game.

Sonar Islands does support saving your progress, so you do not have to begin from the scratch. Otherwise you would not been listed anymore. And yes you loose lights, an abbandonned island is an invitation.
And the lights league will really get important in the future.

By David Standen on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 17:21

Hllf, you were still 2nd on the leaderboard when I checked it yesterday. I deleted the game in frustration and did not play for 2 days, and, surprisingly, I did not lose a lot of lights. What really frustrates me is when I am attempting to locate treasures and my time runs out, resulting in even more loss of lights. However, I decided to come back, and am glad I did. I really love the vinyl record, which hasn't presented me with any difficulties thus far. My least two favourite islands are Ping and the Jungle.

Considering all of your points of view, I totally respect your opinion.
However, since I like this game so much, that would not be a reason for me to stop playing.
I am hopeful that this game will bring us more islands in the future.
I decided from the beginning not to level up so fast because I knew that once I reached the max level I would probably be feeling the way you are right now.
I try to take good things and make them last in order to enjoy them even more.
Anyway, each player decides his or her own way to play.
I decided to advance through the leagues and, at the same time, let other players Attack me so that they can also Move at a good pace and that way I won't end up having too much money and nothing to spend it on.
Now, I wish the developers would come up with other ideas on how else to use the money because there are times in which you have all that gold and, by the time you attack other islands, you just end up losing all those coins for your storage is already full.
well, in the meantime, I plan to keep enjoying Sonar Islands.
Oh, by the way, sometimes I've even wondered if I would be able to start from zero. I mean, like making another account and starting from the first level. LOL. I guess I enjoy this game too much.
Take care, my friend.
Peace.

Ping and Jungle make my head spin.
Those lions are a piece of work.
I have lost count on how many times I've been bitten by those cats.
And I hate to be dematerialized by the labyrinth walls in the Ping island.
Vinyl Record Island is awesome.
Also I love the Electro Island.
In the meantime, watch out for Galactic Ghoul. LOL.

I'm a long way from you yet, with 3616 lights. My username is appleman.

By Jessica Brown on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 17:21

I keep testing mine to try to figure out how it works, but I think i am getting booted off without even hearing bombs. I thought they sounded like fast clocks, but I have never heard anything like that. Also even if my time is not up and I don’t have any chests i will be playing around and suddenly I’m leaving. Shoot the phone? get booted off. Shoot the duck? get booted off. Stand still and do nothing? get booted off.

I think the best way to describe it is 2 thumps or bangs followed by the same sound you hear when walking out an exit. Also, it says defeat.

In reply to by Jessica Brown

OK, that's the sound you get when a toy bashes into you; it's instant game-over when that happens. To defeat a toy, center its sound in your headphones and swipe upward to shoot it. If you were successful you'll hear a pop and the toy will go silent.

By SmoothJazzyTrumpet on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 17:21

I’m really enjoying the game but I wonder if there’s a way maybe in the future to pay for unlimited diamonds for example and also I like the latest island it’s really entertaining. My least favorite islands ar Ping, Jungle, and Fun Fair. My username is the same as what is displayed except it’s all lowercase letters so it’s displayed as smoothjazzytrumpet and St'm level 11.

I'm sorry, but that is a horrible idea that I would expect is a nonstarter. Given diamonds can be used in place of gold to both begin upgrades as well as complete them, if you had unlimited diamonds, you could literally reach max level and max out every island in a matter of minutes.

By vulcansummer on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 17:21

Fun Fair is also difficult for me. How do I know when a toy is going to explode?
Also, I center the toys in my headphones and shoot them. Am I not supposed to be trying to purposely find them?
Then with the Machine Hall, I try to kill the robots and even when they are centered in my headphones, it's hit or miss. Does anyone know of a good way to defeat the robots?

Regarding the toys, they "explode" when they touch you. I wouldn't think of it as exploding so much as just you die when they come too close and make contact with you, though I know they make and explosion sound. When each toy spawns, they start to move closer and closer. The best strategy is to stay still and just turn to face the toy. Once it's centered, swipe up to shoot. You have to perfectly center them though, so if your shot doesn't hit, turn ever-so-slightly to the left or right and try again. The toys always move in a straight line, so once they are centered, they won't move out of of the kill zone.

Regarding the robots, it's a similar concept. You have to center them and shoot. The one thing that is important to note is that you cannot kill the robots until they detect you and actually start moving towards you. Many times, you will be close enough to them to hear them moving around, but they are just patrolling and not actually coming at you.

This behavior is something I wish the devs would change because I personally consider it a bug that you target something and shoot right at it but can't hit it only because it's not targeting you yet.

By DrummerGuy on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 17:21

I also think that the idea of being able to buy unlimited diamonds would defeat the whole purpose of the game.
You would just maximize everything in a couple of minutes just like it was explained by hllf.
And, besides, it is another way for the developers to sustain the game and keep it going.
About patrolling robots, I think it is OK because it just adds a little bit more excitement for it makes you think for a minute that the robot might be coming after you when it isn't.
Just a little more adrenaline going, I would say. LOL.
😄👋

I have no issues with patrolling robots; my issue is that you can't kill them even if you have them perfectly centered. You shoot, but nothing happens. At the very least, there should be some kind of indication that the robots are immune to your shots, as they are not yet targeting you. It just seems counter-intuitive to me that you can shoot at a robot but not damage it just because it basically has its back to you, versus heading directly at you. I could even argue they should be easier to kill in such a circumstance.

By mentalhome.eu on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 17:21

The age of simple machines has gone. Robots are quite clever, also in the machine hall.
They change behaviour with leveling up. From simple patroulling to following.
Shooting is as in real life, a matter of distance, the nearer robots are, the easier they can be targeted. And the stunning gun has its range too, you cannot shoot across the whole island.
Unlimited diamonds have already nearly ruined earth, so we do not want to deal with this on our extraterrestrial habitat.

By SmoothJazzyTrumpet on Monday, May 24, 2021 - 17:21

How about creating an assistive technology island or how about creating some islands that are based on actual countries that have actual islands like Cuba for example? Regarding the diamonds I get it now I just don’t use them as much so I wasn’t really sure what they were for. Sorry about that. I’m just now starting to get the hang of fun for a little bit but I still have an issue with attacking the toys but I’ll keep practicing on that.

Hello,
I'm not going to read the post as I want to be surprised. yes, I think that actual islands would be cool, but I've also thrown out that the game should be more like a surviver type thing--you're droppped off on one of the islands, and you have to survive for a while ... maybe, a week at least. I've never tried snake, but if that's all you have to eat ... go ahead into the temple, I guess. I also agree that the guns/tazer should have upgrades to shoot longer ranges. Plus, I've also had my own ideas about how the compass should be used in the future/how treausre from your own chests should be auto-obtained when you enter the game each time. I don't think AT would be a good thing for an island, for if you were hunted down by JAWS or anything else ... think of what that'd do to someone's psychological state if they're blind and using the technology later on/right at present. I don't think, as a TVI-to-be, that AT would work just for that reason.

Just to say. Italian translation of Sonar Islands sucks.
For a game which requires a subscription to be more efficient, and also with a lot of time to collect coins and experience, and of course if you have to be fast you must pay for diamonds, well... I would have expected a better translation job, not with those crappy automations.
