a few questions regarding podcasting

Hi all,
I'm new to this site. I've visited here to check out latest apps and things, but I've never been a registered user. Anyways, I have a couple questions. I am a podcaster and I use backpack studio. I like to use intro and outro music as well as bumpers sometimes, but for some reason when I hit the record button, it doesn't immediately go to the area where your sound pads are, so there's like a ten second delay between the time I start recording to the time I finally get to the right sound pad to play my intro music. I know there's some hotkeys for backpack, but I've tried them on my braille keyboard, but I don't think they work with that. Also, what other recording apps are out there that are the same or better than backpack. Just curious. I know there's a lot out there, but I just would like your opinion. Also, I want to get a good microphone to give my podcast a professional sound. I have the IK multimedia MicCast 2, but when I plug it in, I can't here voiceover, so I don't know what to do about that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Leslie
P.S. I'm using backpack on an iPhone XR, and I use the orbit writer. Hope this helps, and sorry this post was so long.

In Backpack, Change the magic tap setting to toggle mic on and off. This will et it to where when you record, nothing will happen until you either hit one of the pads or turn your mic on. I use Focus 14 braille display. I pre-record my stuff so I put it on the pads; then when I record, I just hit the pads; that way I can work behind the scenes.
