Outlook Notifications on IOS 14

We at our company have migrated to Microsoft 360 and I have an E3 license for Office. Which means I can have Outlook running on my IOS device.

Outlook is a tool by Microsoft that manages mail communication, calander appoinments etc.

IOS 14.4 My concern for today is that although I have sound notifications turned on for Outlook I many times miss out on meetings that have been scheduled in my calendar. Reminders have been set to remind me 10 minutes before the start of the meeting.

If under Notification settings under Outlook I set the notification to show on locked screen; then I will be alerted for every mail I get on Outlook; which is not what I want. What I want is to be able to be reminded about a meeting by Outlook, even on a locked screen. In other words I need reminders to meetings only that have been accepted and in my calander for Outlook to show up on my locked screen. Is this possible?

Hi Mister Kayne:
I too have Outlook 365 for work. The only notifications I receive is the tone when new mail arrives. So I too would like to know if meeting calendar reminders can be sent. We also use Teams which works well with iOS and I don't know how to get meeting reminders on my phone for this either.

The Outlook app has quite a bit of configuration internally.

1. Open the Outlook app
2. In the top left corner is a button labeled "menu"
3. Activate the menu Button
4. Activate "settings" on the resulting menu

Now you are at the Outlook settings. Here you will want to find these two headings:
"Mail" and "Calendar"

Below each heading is the button to configure notifications for those items.

For example you could turn off all notifications for incoming mail by activating the notifications button under mail then selecting "none"

For calendar you'll want to enable notifications and you can set the default alert time (10 or so minutes before the event time). You can also choose a different sound for the notification on the iphone.

Note that if you have an apple watch and have your notifications sent to the apple watch you can not change the sound.

Mike S thank you for listing out the steps; I know it would have been a pain to remember and jot all of them here. So yes, your instructions are on the dot and my challenge has moved to level 2 I have to customize the sound of the calendar reminder; which cannot be done as you have a limited choice from that settings screen in the app.

gailisaiah so sorry for the delay in reply; if you haven't figured it out yet you can get notifications on Teams to alert with sounds and there are a zillion settings that need your attention before you are good to go.

You start with going to settings on your device then notifications/ Teams and there you choose the style of notification. I have mine set to sounds and badges badges because the Teams app is on my homescreen.

Now the complicated part; you can set notifications for chats/ teams and calendar for which you will have to launch the Teams app. on the top right OR the first button should read more.

From here you are on your own; but let me warn you if you have muted a team; you might not get notifications for it too. You cannot have the sound of your choice for notifications in any of the Office 360 apps. trust me on that, you have a list of sounds and that is about it make your choice!
