Hey All

I keep seeing people post updates to their "Stories" on Facebook but when tapping on they are rarely accessible. I'm just wondering if anyone has discovered any tricks to making FB stories accessible with VO on IOS? I recall a couple of years ago FB saying they would make them accessible............

Perhaps I'm missing something as I'm not a huge FB user so thought I'd ask if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions.

Cheers

Pete

On the first page that opens with the app, find the stories tray and select the one with one finger up/down, like adjusting value in a value field or combo box. Double tap on the desired story. Inside any story, swipe three fingers left and right to move inside previous and next stories. Rest it depends on the content of the story whether voiceover reads it or not. In case it's a video, be sure to turn off mute toggle which is generally on. Hth.

Thanks for the reply, this is helpful.

I'm finding when I get a notification of someone adding to their story if I tap on the notification the story page doesn't read much - your above tips help though as I wasn't aware mute would be on automatically for videos. Not much text is read but I think this might be down to people just putting pictures or videos on the handful I've had so far.

Used VO for years but just never ventured into the FB story fields before! Thanks again and stay safe.

Hi, you might want to turn on screen recognition if you have the iPhone 11 or above as this will red text from any image that is being posted to stories.

Thanks, was hoping it would be more text based and was missing something, appears not and it's mostly pics and videos so merging into Instagram.
