Hi All
In the IOS YouTube app when a advertisement plays Voiceover reads that adds can now be skipped - when you swipe to the "Skip ads" button Voiceover speaks the phrase "Selected, Skip ads button" which to me suggests that Voiceover sees it as a default pre-selection so in theory a magic tap might work. Has anyone else come across this and found a quick solution for skipping the ads?

I just double tap on the skip ads button. Never thought about trying the magic tap but doubt it would do more than pause it.
Yep Magic tap doesn't work for it
Your correct that magic tap doesn't skip the ad, and currently I also just double tap on the skip ads button but first you have to find that button and I thought that it was odd that when you find the button Voiceover reads it as "Selected, skip ads button" so why is it saying the "Selected" part if VO isn't seeing it as some kind of default selection? Kind of like how Jaws will automatically be on a done button. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it and it's simply a coding bug with the YouTube app making it say "Selected" and I don't know if visually it is automatically highlighted already so somehow it's easier to do. Perhaps it's visually highlighted for visual appeal and VO is just reading the highlight as selected but to no benefit to VO users?
No idea about that one, but…
No idea about that one, but I lean more toward that being a bug.
