I find shopping on Amazon an unpleasant experience using Safari and VO. Can you give me any advice, tips, suggestions etc. to make it easy? Is the shopping experience better using the Amazon app on iOS? With a BT keyboard?
I hear they have an alternative accessible website. How good is that and what is the URL?
Thanks.

Alternate site
Hello,
Here is the alternate amazon site.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw
That is the website I use if I don’t have access to my IOS devices. Personally, I would rather use the IOS app than their website. With the app, you can dictate what you are looking for if you don’t want to type it in. If you use amazon a lot, consider getting an amazon dot.
HTH and good luck.
Shopping on Amazon from a mini running Sierra
Hello,
I know what you mean. On my Mac I turn off java script found in the developer menu. Select "disable java script". It stops all those pop up dialogs.
It's a pain because when you try to access other sites like youtube videos you have to turn back on java script.
As the other poster stated. The IOS app is easy if you are comfortable with IOS.
Good luck.

amazon app
There are so many apps for amazon. Which is the one for shopping?
Netflix Follows Suit
I experience this very issue with the Netflix website using Safari on Mac. When the VoiceOver cursor reaches a link that points to a film, TV show, documentary etcetera that offers video playback, a popup window is almost immediately displayed, preventating me from further perusing the list.
This is an onmouseover event issue. If I go to VoiceOver Utility and set mouse pointer to be ignored by VoiceOver cursor, the issue is resolved only to some extent. Apple should consider suppressing onmouseover events whilst VoiceOver is active, and implement a keyboard command that activates the onmouseover event for those who need to use it.
Making amazon website better
Hello,
There is a fix for the pop ups issue that does not involve turning off javascript or going to the amazon accessibility alternate site. First open up your VoiceOver utilities. Next go to the navigation section. once in the navigation section move to the pop up for the mouse pointer. You should be able to get to it by using vo right arrow four times. Set this option to ignores VoiceOver cursor. This will make amazon much easier to navigate by not activating those pop ups every time you move to the ratings of an item.
The Amazon App.
The Amazon App is much better than going through Safari. I say all the time that Amazon is too accessible! LOL! Very easy to find what you are looking for. You can be very specific when dictating.
