Google search with voiceover

Hello all, just wondering if anyone’s having this problem. I am currently running the latest software update and I have the iPhone XR. When I go to do a Google search, the word appears in the box but it is not telling me that the word is appearing in the box. This is when using voice over. For example, if I type in the word girl, it is not telling me that this word is appearing in the box. I hope this makes sense. If anyone else is having this problem please let me know.

Yes, same here. It's a bit frustrating!

I have a couple workarounds you could try.

1. You can download the Google app and use that to do google searches. It's free and wonderfully accessible.

2. Go to Safari or your browser of choice. Then go to the address bar tap on that, and enter your search query that way!
For example, you would type

girl clothes

into the address bar and then hit the go button, or swipe right with 2 fingers if using braille screen input. Then you can navigate Google, or your preferred search engine of choice as you normally would.
Truth be told, that's how I do my searches now and I found out about that nifty little trick through Hadley's VoiceOver series! Hope this helps!
