Accessibility Comments

This game has been, and at time of writing still very much continues to be, diligently worked on by the developer, with the help of the Apple-Vis community, it is extremely accessible and improving all the time. One slightly misleading thing in the description: There is a TTS voice, but accessible mode does play better when Voiceover is kept on. I have thought carefully about the ease of use rating. Some might disagree, but this app is being constantly improved and updated, and the small amount of latency we have now is being fixed and will soon go away.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

This is a very good game indeed for those who like an immersive game which involves crafting and questing, but does not involve combat. It's something a lot of us have been wanting for absolutely ages. Completely addictive.

i’m sure this has been mentioned before but crafting kingdom doesn’t appear to use iCloud. Does this mean that if I get a new phone but I will have to start again from the beginning?

By Portia on Sunday, October 22, 2017 - 04:05

@Use Small Words,

Yes, it has been mentioned. From what I understand, an update that includes iCloud support for saving games is being worked on.

Hope this helps.

By Use Small Words on Sunday, October 22, 2017 - 04:05

In reply to by Portia

guess I’ll hold off on upgrading for the moment then. :-)

By Michelle on Sunday, October 22, 2017 - 04:05

Yes, I am still working on the cloud save and it is getting close to being finished now.
I'll hold off on promising a date, though, because a nasty bug in the system can always get in the way and delay the release.
I'll post an update here when the beta testing for the cloud save starts.

By Portia on Sunday, October 22, 2017 - 04:05

Hi Michelle,

That is really exciting news. It will be awesome to be able to save our progress for sure, smiles.

By Michelle on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 - 04:05

The cloud save is now working and the update of the game is just around the corner.
But I just wanted to offer anyone who is planning to reset their phone or switch to a new one and can't wait for the release to write to me. I can add you to the beta and get you access to the cloud save quicker. I don't want anyone to lose their progress.

Hello! I am having some issues with the latest update on the production screens. Sometimes the screen becomes unresponsive while flicking rather I am using voice over or the accessibility mode. Any help would be welcome thank you!

Unfortunately, Mattie, you're not the only one having problems with the production screens in the latest version of Crafting Kingdom. The app often jams for me on the production screens, so that I can't restart automations, see how much production time I have left, or do anything else with production slots. I even had a similar problem in the city once, where I accidentally opened the help screen and couldn't close it; Sometimes I can navigate the production screens if I swipe slowly, but that doesn't always work. Restarting the app, or even my iPhone, doesn't always make a difference either. I have an iPhone 6, slower on IOS 11 than newerr iPhones, but I gather that even the newest i-devices have the same problems, such as focus dancing around, and the app being unresponsive or jamming up completely.

By Mattie SV on Friday, December 22, 2017 - 04:05

Thank you so much for your feedback Clare! I was wondering if it was only me having these sorts of issues with the game!

By Jennifer Kent on Friday, December 22, 2017 - 04:05

Lets see how she does on an iPhone seven running the latest os.
not too well I cant click things and cloud saving doesn't work says failed to connect and focus jumps sometimes all in all not a game I will be playing.

Hi everyone,
we are getting lots of reports that the iOS version has performance issues since the latest update.
We're currently investigating what's been causing these and hope to have an update or a fix soon.
There's no current beta version, as we have to find a fix first, before we can start testing.

By Use Small Words on Monday, January 22, 2018 - 04:05

i’m unable to disable accessibility mode using the three finger three Times tap. I’m using an iPhone with most up-to-date iOS as of today 9 January 2018. I have also been unable to do this with other iOS systems. Can somebody maybe help me with this please?

By alex wallis on Monday, January 22, 2018 - 04:05

honestly why don't people explore, if you want to turn off accessibility it can be done from the options menu there is a checkbox in there. though if your on this site presumably you need it? people shouldn't tinker and should leave things alone, I mean if it is working for you why would someone want to toggle it on and off.

By Use Small Words on Monday, January 22, 2018 - 04:05

I just thought I’d let people know that I myself was unable to use the method of enabling and disabling accessibility mode stated in the App Store

By Justin on Monday, January 22, 2018 - 04:05

Hi,
Try turning off VoiceOver, then do the three finger triple tap, that should work if you want to disable access mode. Be aware, then if you do this, then you'll loose all speech, even if VO is turned on, the game will not speak.

By Use Small Words on Monday, January 22, 2018 - 04:05

In reply to by Justin

I just tried and it didn’t work. my cited friend also tried it but it didn’t work for him either. Is it something I might be missing possibly. :-)

By DrummerGuy on Monday, January 22, 2018 - 04:05

In reply to by Use Small Words

I mentioned some time ago that the three finger triple tap gesture doesn't work when trying to enable or disable accessibility mode. Now, I understand that you have the right to explore and to test if things are working properly or not. Therefore, if something is found not to be working or functioning properly, it has to be reported. The only thing you can do is ask for sighted assistance in order to turn accessibility mode back on.

By Kerry Fielding on Thursday, March 22, 2018 - 04:05

Hi. Sadly, I am reporting the same issue. However, the issue only seems to occur for me in the farm. I currently have 25 production slots and, when I go into the farm, moving around is near enough impossible. I haven’t picked this game up for a while, but started playing again the other day. I am running iOS 11 .2 .6 and have an iPhone SE 64 GB. Sadly, it looks like the end of the road for me with this game.

Can anybody suggest another game like this I can play in the meantime? I shall miss this game.

Sorry to hear that you feel you must give up on Crafting Kingdom completely, Kerry, given that you can't do anything with your production slots in the farm. I've had the same problem with other properties: I can't continue my current metal parts quest, because, even though I can start production in the quarry, that will no longer work for the furnace and the blacksmith since I updated my iPhone 6 to IOS 11.2.6 recently. However, getting stuck like this might not mean the end of the road for either of us. Even if you don't plan to upgrade to a faster iPhone as I hope to do sometime in the next few months, I have read on the other AppleVis forum thread about this game that the developers are looking into this performance problem and hope to release an update to the app when they can solve it. In the meantime, some of us may need to take a break from the game, but I'm not uninstalling my copy, in fact I've done a cloud save of the game and will resume playing either when the faster update comes out or when I get a new iPhone, whichever happens first.

By Kerry Fielding on Thursday, March 22, 2018 - 04:05

Hi Claire. I probably won't give up forever but for now at least. How do i do a Cloud Save? Wondering if to do that and then uninstall/reinstall the game to see if that makes a difference? I do like this game as well so hope they fix it soon. However, I saw these complaints coming up in December and it is now March.

If you have the latest version of Crafting Kingdom, Cloud Save is in the options. Swipe right from where you would usually double-tap Play to open the game, then, when you've found Options, double-tap that, then swipe down to Cloud Save.

By Michelle on Thursday, March 22, 2018 - 04:05

Hi everybody,
we're currently in the testing phase of the new update. This update also replaces the save and load system, which is why we're testing it for so long in alpha, before we're even giving it out to beta testers. We don't want anybody to loose their progress due to a destroyed save game.

By natalija Lambert on Monday, October 22, 2018 - 04:05

does anyone know where you can buy iron from in crafting kingdom?thanks boo

By Clare Page on Monday, October 22, 2018 - 04:05

In reply to by natalija Lambert

Iron isn't among the products in Crafting Kingdom, but iron ore is one of the products in the quarry. I hope this helps!

Anyone notice that you need gems to activate your boosts? I don't remember this boosts the case. When will I get the in app purchase that will unlock he 4 boost slots. I'm just now coming back to this game on ios so I'm still small. Lol!

By KE7ZUM on Thursday, August 22, 2019 - 04:05

I am just coming back to iOs after 2 years. I notice that I can't restore my purchase I thought I made with the boosts, and when I want to use a boost it costs 1 gem. What happened to free? And can I find a way to restore my unlocked boost slot etc in game Still having fun with it.

By Paul Martin on Thursday, August 22, 2019 - 04:05

When you go to activate a boost, there should indeed be a restore purchase button, though it's one of the last options in the list after you select a boost if memory serves. Note that mentioned screen will only show if the game registers no purchase, and will activate the boost straight away if the opposite is true.

By KE7ZUM on Thursday, August 22, 2019 - 04:05

It is not. I only see a cancel and OK button.I I never saw a restore purchase, nor do I have the option to buy the add on if I never did in the first place.

By Paul Martin on Thursday, August 22, 2019 - 04:05

It's starting to sound like you're not even signed into the app store for some reason. I don't believe there's an exception written in the game for handling that, so it just shows you no message at all if that were the case. The easiest way to verrify if you're in the store is paying your Apple ID settings a visit. Just tap settings, then your name towards the top of the screen.

By KE7ZUM on Thursday, August 22, 2019 - 04:05

I'm signed into the app store. This happened with iOs 11, 12, and now 13. and I know I'm signed in as I'm downloading updates etc. I just recheckd, and yes I am signed in.

By Hilary Reed on Sunday, September 22, 2019 - 04:05

Hi. So, I understand how to cloud save, and it’s very convenient. However, how can you start a new game?

By KE7ZUM on Sunday, September 22, 2019 - 04:05

I just reinstalled the game. My cloud save never carried over so try that.

By Ray Rucker on Sunday, September 22, 2019 - 04:05

Does anyone know when we might see an update for this game?

By Michelle on Sunday, September 22, 2019 - 04:05

Hi KE7ZUM,
Please send me your player ID in an eMail (support@metalpopgames.com) or private message. I will make sure your account is restored - or if that's not possible, I can at least restore the purchase manually.
I don't want you to lose your purchases!

Also sorry for the late replay, I wasn't following this thread actively.

By KE7ZUM on Sunday, September 22, 2019 - 04:05

No problem. I already sent the meail as well as what actually happens, and I could not ge the ID as swiping up and down kind of didn't work the way I anticipated. Lol! More in the private email.

Blessings.

How do I exit out of ad screens? For some, I can tap on the upper most right corner to exit out but not all

By burak on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 - 04:05

The castle refuses to give me rewards even though I completed all of the quests and reset like thrice. It used to give me rewards on my old SE. Deleted the game for now.

Hi, there's a button labled "1" that you need to click on near each completed quest. Once that's done, you will get the rewards expected after ascension. Hope this helps!

By Bobbi on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 - 04:05

Sadly I'm not able to make any use at all of the video rewards as I cannot close the advertisements without killing the app. While there are gems sometimes found in the treasure chests, I still want the advantage of gaining more gems by watching videos if I'd like, rather than having to pay for packages of gems. At this point, sighted people have a distinct advantage when it comes to obtaining gems now. Were it not for the fact that I can sometimes get gems in treasure chests, I would have deleted the game ages ago. Other than this though, I do enjoy how things are done, though ascension has become a little less intuitive given that you have to click a button labeled with a symbol number 1 in order to obtain the rewards of the quests you've completed. There's nothing that explains anywhere that this is what you need to do. Nor is the button label any kind of indication as to what it does. I was afraid I was accidentally rerolling quests when I tried it out, and luckily I hadn't... this could be worked on in my opinion so that the label explains what the button actually is, and also explain somewhere that you need to click this button in order to get the rewards.

Other than these relatively minor issues, I haven't had any other problems with the game, and I find that I enjoy it overall.

By Clare Page on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 - 04:05

Hi! Last time I played Crafting Kingdom was on my old iPhone 6, and, after seeing recent posts about it, I finally installed it on my iPhone SE 2020 which I bought earlier this year. Interestingly, I didn't have to restore a purchase of boosts I remember doing ages ago, and I had lots of gems when I started the app for the first time, as if the game had somehow remembered how many I left it with whenever I last played it. I've had to start building up my estate from scratch on my new phone, though, and, in spite of the word Idle being added to the game's name, I can't be idle in the very earliest quests, production of logs is so quick. But in spite of having to start from the beginning again, I'm glad I reinstalled the game, and I'm sure it'll keep me out of mischief for a long time to come.

In reply to by Bobbi

I thank you a lot for your answer. I thought that, since the reroll button was next to the +1 button, that button is used to reroll and it would caust one gems to do it.

By burak on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 - 04:05

Hello,
When I installed the app it didn't prompt me for notifications. Notifications under options was enabled. I uncheckd it and tried to check it again but it said you didn't grant notification access. The app doesn't appear under notifications settings. What can I do?

By Lucky29000 on Monday, March 22, 2021 - 04:05

Hello. This game is great, but I have a problem. When I reset the quests to 0 it tells me "nothing new", then everything is reset, except the quests which remain the same and are always completed. Am I making a mistake or is it a game problem? PS: Excuse me for the mistakes, I used google translate.

By Use Small Words on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 - 04:05

i'm having the exact same problem is this a bug? Also, has anyone noticed that the voice has changed to Daniel when not using VoiceOver? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and the speech doesn't go back to my default. Furthermore, I prefer the older layout as opposed to this new one as I find it easier to navigate.

By Tyson Ernst on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 - 04:05

In reply to by Use Small Words

When you are ascending, with each quest completed, you must click on the number 1 in order to acknowledge the completion of the quest. The status will change to "Active" and you get the benefits immediately, not needing to wait for the reset. This is the only way to get new quests when resetting.
HTH

By Use Small Words on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 - 04:05

this work but in my opinion it just makes it more difficult to restart the game. I would really like it if you could just complete the quest, get the reward and continue rather than having to ascend or upgrade. it's always confuse me why restarting the game is necessary. It's the one gripe I have with gameplay.

By Matthew on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 - 04:05

Hi, I'm wondering if anybody else has had this problem?
I complete a bunch of quests then go through the reset thing, only nothing gets rewarded, and I still have my old quests that are still marked as complete. Is there a way to fix this?
Edit: I figured this out. It's been a while since I've played, so I didn't know you needed to manually claim rewards from each quest now.
