Customizing Trackpad Gestures

Hi,

I must be missing something obvious because I'm not having success trying to customize the gestures for VoiceOver in the Trackpad Commander. I have chosen a modifier key, navigated in the table, selected a trackpad gesture and moved to the menu button for that gesture. I pick the command I want from the resulting choices but that selection never sticks. I've tried both pressing enter on the command and activating.

This is happening for me with Big Sur 11.2 on multiple computers.

Any hints are appreciated.

Have you been paying attention to which activity you"re modifying? By activity, I mean those activities revealed in the vo-f8 table, activity category, and those activities revealed by vo-x when you are not in the voiceover utility.

Hi :) I am having the same problem in 11.0 and 11.2 but only with the option to add a custom command to open a file/app/utility, it never opens the window to select what I want to open. I just reported it to Apple.

I was able to add the normal commands, like opening the shortcuts menu and next headings.

I was able to add the custom commands in the keyboard commander though, maybe it's because it is right in the VO menu and the trackpad commander menu opens a different window...

The only workaround I found was to add a random command to the gesture I wanted, export VO preferences for TrackPad commander, then making a copy of the file (to back up) and editing the xml of the file to the command I wanted and then re-importing the edited file to VoiceOver.
