Braille on Apple Products

Hi all, I have an idea to add the braille on the packaging of Apple product, like outside box or user guide inside.

Do you think it would be helpful?

What's the experience and main barrier when receiving a new well packed iPhone?

What content of braille could help? Or what do you expect?

Thanks!

Probably won't ever happen. Apple already made the boxes of the new iPhones smaller by removing the ear pods and the charging brick. They're not going to add more paperwork, especially not in a bulky format like hard copy Braille. They don't even provide much print documentation; just a little card with a few getting started tips. Everything you would need to read is available online.

I think Apple's accessibility department used to partner with somewhereo to offer VoiceOver user guides in Braille for people who requested them. Not sure if they're still doing that.

As for Braille on the outside of the box, I'm not sure how much useful info you could get by doing that either. Maybe the specific iPhone model, but you could always just use a bar code scanner for that.

You can go to Adaptations.org and use the search function to look for Apple. Here's one example. https://adaptations.org/products/braille-apple-ios-13-user-guide-11-volumes?_pos=8&_sid=3bc818245&_ss=r
