New slots game Westopia

Howdy, I want to introduce you a new and awesome game for the iPhone and iPad called Westopia: A slots game with an original plot where you have to make grow an old west town, from the caravans of the pioneers to a big city. Spend the money won on the slots building new places like the saloon, farms, stores... and thereby acquiring new slots. Once you have got a minimum of inhabitants and places, You have to deal also with some disasters, like robbing mobs and tornados that might destroy one of your buildings unless you act quickly. This plot makes the slots exciting and much less repetitive. You'll find many different types of slots: one-liners, multi-liners, from three to six reels, and three types of jackpots, lucky wheel, dice, etc. The game is 100% VoiceOver accessible and features also optional solid colors and visual helps for low vision gamers. I'll be glad that you could add Westopia to AppleVis App Directory where it could reach more people and where I could manage any questions or suggestions as I did with FruitPot a couple of years ago. Thank you so much. Here is the link:

Hi,i wanted to check this game, but its not available in my country. Ä°s it available around the world?

By KE7ZUM on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

I'm a beta tester for this game, and I love it. give it a try and leave feedback for the dev.

By Ornella on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

I love this game so far. its really good. How do I bring people in my town? I filled up the first caravan. Now I have to play the second one.

By KE7ZUM on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

Just keep playing. the more jack pots I think you win the more you will be fine. I'm on the tgrain route now, plus the cantina,, the forest, and its sub buildings, plus the ranch which I just got today.

By David Standen on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

I love this game as much as I love Fruit Pot. I've received the jackpot for the caravan slot 3 times, and won the jackpot once for both the wild animals and the canteena.

Hi! I downloaded Westopia yesterday, and had a quick look at it this morning, but I'm not sure if I've got the hang of how it works yet. Can someone please explain this game to me a bit? Do I play the various games to build up my settlement? Or is it not so obvious as that? Thanks in advance for any explanation.

By Kris on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

This is such a fun game! As a beta tester, I truly applaud the dev for all his hard work on making Westopia accessible for VoiceOver users. Go ahead and give this game a try.

You play the caravan and once you full up the box or what ever its called then something else will be opened and you will need to use the money you have to build them. The games helps you get badges and other things. At the top of the game there's a help section and its layed out really well that you can navigate to the topic that you want so when you tap on it you get that specific info on it. There's more but you have to play and explore.

I also can not check the game because it is not available in my country. I also want to be beta tester as I love this type of games.

I know Trump doesn't like open borders, but that's stretching it a little don't you think?🤣

By TamagotchiTune on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

Hi. so first off. im enjoying this game. the accessibility and hard work you put in to this is very noticed and appreciated. I do have one question tho. Will this game be able to be saved across all devices in the future?

By Firefly on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

I keep running out of tokens. I’ve only played the caravans a few times, is there a way to get more besides buying them? Or do they reset daily?

By Ornella on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

In reply to by Firefly

You need to play them over and over till you have enough tocans. So if you want to keep 100 tocans for your self you need to play quite a lot. I need to get more badges because I had so much disasters that I'm running out so later I will play some more. I like the plinko and the ying-yang game.

Subject pretty much says it all. I know that Fruitpot has been removed from the app store for whatever reason, but I still have it installed on my iphone 8 plus and play it quite often. In fact, knowing that I'd probably lose Fruitpot is one of the major reasons that I've decided to delay getting a new phone for as long as possible. I'm trying to get into this new game, but it just isn't the same to me. I'm thankful it exists, though; any game that is VO friendly is welcome on my phone.

Hello, you can get tokens in the slots where you have to collect symbols to get the jackpot. For every collectible symbol you get one token. I hope this helps, good luck!

By Eduardo FruitPot on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

People come to Westopia, every time you make a full line of symbols. They also come if you have many buildings and little or no ruins because if you have many buildings pending of rebuild, people leave the town. Sounds stressful, but it's not, just play plenty and you'll have a big happy town. Good luck!

By Eduardo FruitPot on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

You can play the games Plinko, lucky wheel, yin yang, and dice spending one token on each turn. But, if you have enough slots (nine or so) you can win free rounds to these games when you get a full line of the specific symbol. Plinko adds helpers but the other games are basically to change the features of the present slot. I hope this helps.

Hello, the idea of the game, is to build the different places: the caravans, the desert animals, and many more and get with every one of them a new slot, the slots are different in many ways and, can be customized with the games. Thanks to your comment, I can see now that the games shouldn't have a so prominent place at the beginning of the game, because the newbies, of course, think that the games are the place to begin, this should be solved for the next version. Thank you very much.

Yes, this is a feature that I'll try to add in the near future. Probably three or five different cities saved in iCloud, can be opened in others devices with the same account. Have a nice day.

I love this game. But for some reasons I can’t use holds or nudges in some slots. Why it happens and what should I do?

By Clare Page on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

Now that I have played Westopia more, I understand better how it works, but thanks for the explanations above. I'm definitely enjoying this game now I'm getting the hang of it, and I also like the way that some parts of FruitPot live on in this game. I still have FruitPot anyway, even though I changed my phone earlier this year: it was one of the apps that came back when I restored from an iCloud backup while setting up my iPhone SE 2020. It'll be great if we can back up Westopia to the cloud in future, for playing on more than one device or to be able to continue it when we get a new one. Many thanks to the developer for another good game!

Make sure that you have a lot of nudges and holds. That happened to me. I had to swipe to the info button to see how many I had and indeed I ran out and had to collect more.

You probably got a free round to the lucky wheel and the holds and the nudges went off.
The games Lucky Wheel, Yin Yang, and Dice affect the present slot machine in the following ways:
1. The Lucky Wheel shows six symbols: nudges, holds, one wollar, bet two, and free spin. When you get one of these symbols and you had it not in the slot, the symbol is added to the slot. But when you had the symbol already, the symbol disappears from the slot. When you don't have nudges symbols, you don't have nudges action, the same with hold and bet.
2. The Dice game enables from one to all of these six high paid symbols: champagne, spike, cherries, magic bell, diamond, and golden horseshoe.
3. The yin yang changes the type of jackpot, the number of reels, and the number of pay lines (one or multiple).
I hope this helps. Have a nice day

A tutorial on this game would be great! I’ve won some but I don’t have a clear idea on how these slots work. If somebody could hit me up privately that would be great. Derrick.moreland@gmail.com is where I can be found.

I was in the same boat. I say was, because I have deleted the game. Funny that, because I made noise when the game wasn't available in my country. Now that it is, it only made me confused and frustrated.

I’m gonna give it some more time. Thing is, it’s so damn addictive! LOL, I’m usually great on battery life but since downloading this game I am having to charge more than once in a day. Lol. I’m gonna give it at least another week.

I start the game, then build the caravans and get the wild animals. I then play a few slots, not knowing what I'm doing until I run out of tokens. Then my game ends, because I have no clue on how to regain tokens or where to double tap.

By Eduardo FruitPot on Sunday, December 27, 2020 - 00:21

Slots games are usually a single slot or a series of similar slots where you push spin and you get randomly different kind of prizes, been this prizes in digital slots basically virtual money used to continue playing the slots. Many people love these games because they are beautiful, and require no strategy or any kind of thinking besides pushing spin again and again.
With Westopia (as I did with FruitPot) I'm trying to use the slot as a base for a sort of meaningful game. I mean, it's just a game, and you can play it just pushing spin, again and again, this is even the idea at the beginning, but, once you have spent some time in the game, I myself find traditional slots too repetitive, and I've decided to add the extra games (and more that will come) and an active plot.
In Westopia there are no automatic slots, they all have hold, nudge and bet, they are constantly changing symbols, types of jackpots, reels, and pay-lines. Besides this, once you have enough slots, your buildings begin suffering disasters and you might lose a couple of them, and when you have destroyed buildings, people leave your city, and then you don’t unlock new slots. All this makes the game much more difficult to learn, of course, but in the long run, I think it makes it much more fun to play. Anyway, remember that this is just a game, please don’t get frustrated or try to finish the game in two days. I’m planning to add several accessory games and new slots in the near future that will improve the experience.

I forgot to say when I was beta testing this, that sometimes when I flick over to something to build and I double tap, it doesn't quite work, and I have to try and use explore by touch. I brought this up in the case of the cantina, and somewhere in the forest, I can't figure out when it's going to bug out as sometimes it does not, and sometimes it does. Loving the game and just unlocked something else in the prary.

Hello, Can someone explain to me in detail how to get the mega jackpots to work? I've been trying for about three days now, and all it does is keep growing. I've gotten different rewards, and I've been able to get different buildings to open up, but I truly cannot figure out what symbol's you need to get the mega jackpot to be won. Any help would be so wonderful. Thanks tons.
Z.

I have an idea can you port over the balloon popping game that was on fruitpot over to this game? Another thing is that if you're adding more accesarries I think that the money we win we can buy items for our building. This is an example. If we unlocked a bar or a casino as a reference, we can use money to buy equipment so people can patronize. We can spin the slots and top up the bar with beer or drinks. So the slots can have any of the drink or food symbols and once we get a full line of them the bar is automatically stocked up with items. And there could be something that says the drugstore is running out of medicine so we spin and try to get bandages and pils and other items. That's my idea. Not sure if its good or not.

In reply to by Zoe

You play one turn to the mega jackpot every time you get a full line of any of the the high values symbols: champagne, pick, cherries, lucky bell, diamond or Golden Horseshoe. Then, the jackpot which looks like a machine that shows the numbers, changes the numbers for all the high value symbols, and spins like a slot machine. You can not count on winning until you have played this way many times (between 15 and 30, I think), but when you do, you get the full big jackpot. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll try to fix this issue for the next version.

Thanks for your ideas. New games will come soon. They will be similar to the laboratory in FruitPot but, there will be a laboratory in every zone with a slightly different version of the games in every zone. The pop balloons will be a good addition. Regarding the stores stock games, it’s a good idea, I will try to find a way to play with it. Thanks again.

I will send in an email to you on the detailed idea I gave so you can get a better understanding on how I think it could work.

Nice. Yeah I'm still beta testing so I look forward to testing the fixes ahead of the release. Keep up the good work.

Hi.
Thanks so much for making the game accessible. I really enjoy the game so far, but it takes a lot of time to get used to for me. English is not my main language, I'm born blind, so I've never played any real slot machine accept for Fruitpot and a few other accessible software based slot machines. My point is: For me at leased, never having played a real slot machine makes it quite difficult to imagine the full picture of what's going on, and what it looks like compared to a real slot machine.
I might be able to come up with something to simulate a real slot machine in audio, but then I need some descriptions like what it looks like on the screen.
I'm sure that I'm not the only one who have never played a real slot machine, which makes it kind of difficult to get the full picture of what's going on. I'm not sure on how to explain that, but I'll see if I can come up with something.
Here is some feedback and questions:
Different languages:
I see in the app store that the game is translated into multiple languages. Is the game opened for more translations in the future?
An issue regarding languages:
For some messages in the game, the devices main TTS is used instead of Voiceover. This is an issue for us who have set our devices to other languages than English as the main language.
Bugs:
1. There are some focus issues, where you can't reach all the buttons by swiping left or right. It happens randomly, but it usually happens when a new screen has been loaded. I've seen some different focus issues which happens randomly and differently when the VO cursor get stuck. I can sometimes fix it by touching the screen and find what I need in this way.
2. There are clickable buttons which aren't labeled as buttons. Therefore, you wouldn't know it's a button before you click on it.
I look forward to play the game some more and to give more feedback.

Hi slj,
Thank you for your feedback, I’ll try to fix the bugs.
1. I’ll try to make that all the voices speak the same language.
2. More languages will be happily added if there is enough demand and income.
3. regarding the focus issues, I cannot promise much because it’s automatic, and the continuous changes of the game interface interfere with the stability of the buttons, although I’ll try.
In the next post, I’ll try to explain how many slots look. Thanks again for your feedback.

Classic mechanic slot machines have a lever in the right side and, when you pull it, the reels spin. In the center is the “gaming zone” with three reels, each reel is a cylinder with the symbols drawn on it’s curved surface and they all share an axis. Each cylinder turns at a different speed and stops facing the symbols. They have a slot where you put the coins, and in modern ones also some mechanical buttons in the lower part, beneath the reels. All these, probably makes characteristic sounds. But with digital slots, like the ones in Las Vegas, the mechanical parts are replaced with a screen and usually some buttons below it. This slots have sounds that doesn’t have anything to do with their mechanical cousins. On most of the digital slots and the same applies to Westopia, you have in the top of the screen the jackpot number (sometimes the pay-table or other games), in the middle, you find the “gaming zone”, and below that the spin, nudge or any buttons. Being digital, instead of spinning reels, the gaming zone consist in three or more columns that display the symbols. When you touch spin, they slide very fast downwards, until they stop and reveal the next turn symbols. In one-liners slots, those which have only one pay-line, you have in the bottom side of the “gaming zone” the symbols that are now on play, but part of the next symbol is also shown, this way you can use nudge to slide the reel one place down. Multi-line slots show three symbols of every reel and in westopia, when there can be a winning combination, automatically each reel is rearanged to get a line. I hope this makes sense.

Good news: I've managed to upgrade the old code of FruitPot and it's been accepted for TestFlight. Here is the link for whoever wants to test it:

If everything goes as planned, in a couple of weeks, FruitPot will be available at the AppStore again. Thanks for your help.

Happy Lee testing this great game of FruitPot.
Westopia and FruitPot are simply fabulous.

The old Fruit pot game still works and it's still one of my favourite games. The app synced to my new apple watch and I have also been playing fruit pot on the watch.
