Yes, This is possible as long as the headphones have a lightening connection or you have the 3.5 MM to lightening adaptor. I use Bose earbuds and a lightening adaptor to connect to my iPad. Unfortunately Bose discontinued the line of wired earbuds as more connections move to wireless through Bluetooth.
